5/13/62 system by Rob Booker

I am currently using the 5/13/62 moving average system that Rob Booker discusses in his book. It has worked pretty good so far on 15 min intervals in my demo. Anyone else has experience using this system or good success from it. I have just decided to go LIVE this week

Rob Booker has many systems and none of them are profitable in the long run.

I Let The 5ema Go Thru The 13ema & The 13 Thru The 62ema And Wait For The Candle To Come Back & Touch The 62ema. Using The 15min Interval. Using The 1hr Chart 62ema As Resistance/support. Have Anyone Tried This B4 Also

You obviously know nothing of Rob Booker then.... !!! 5-13-62 works about as well as any moving average crossover system can work... it is not the system that works... it is the trader...

Rob Bookers Arizona Rules are awesome.... !!! They are extremely profitable... and Rob Bookers got the Pips to prove it... !!!

It works on any time frame.... but again... it is a typical MA crossover system...

My opinion for what it's worth...
Anytime somebody starts attributing the success of a system to the voodoo of 'the trader', I would think twice about using it on real money, because that's just another way of saying 'the rules of the system are not good enough', the rules either work or they don't work.

Remember also that 5-13-62 is barely a system if at all... the rules for it are about the same as for any MA crossover system... it gives you a basic entry point... and after that you are pretty much on your own... and price is only going to come back and touch the 62 once or twice... after that who knows...

Are you going to wait for the 13 to cross back over the 62 at the end of a trend ?? I hope not... because by then the trend will most likely be over and your pip count will already have gone down quite a lot... A trader should know the limits of an MA crossover system... it does not predict the future.... it only tells the past... MA crossovers are fine to point the direction of the trend... Price action needs to be used to tell you when you should get out...

Attached chart is a good example to 5-13-62... Price only came back one time to touch the 62... lets call it the ''first time back rule...''

Then maybe system is a bad name, the '5/13/62 entry' may be a more appropriate name.

I am a pretty new trader (barely 4 mths) and like many of them around, I too have lost my 1st account But in the last 4 mths, I have learnt quite a few things in this huge market. What still keeps me going is the potential this market has and that I know i've lost money due to my mistakes. Hence, there are many many more things to learn here.

In the course of last few months, I did a lot of research about a system that could get me some pips. I tried a lot of them (at least 8-10 as I remember), but none of them actually worked. As soon as I got into the trades, the trades changed paths.

I do not say that these systems are bad - they may be working for lot of ppl, but for me they didn't. Moreover, looking at a lot of indicators on the screen does not exite me either.

I happened to read Rob Booker's Strategy 10 ebook a couple of months back. Initially I started my trading using the 5-13-62 system and did get a few pips. But later on, the greed within me took over and hence the hunt to look for an advanced system

For the last 2 weeks I have been working on 2 things - 1. Arranging some more money to restart trading ( in the mean time I am trading using a demo account) and 2. reading a lot of Rob Booker's stuff - including the Wallaby

I may be wrong but I feel the 5-13-62 strategy does work very well. I follow RBs advice and look for a mere 10 pips each trade, and more often than not I do get them.

This system works very well for me - dont know about others. I agree this is a simple MA crossover system...but then if it works what is the harm?

The only change I do is, I enter a trade after 2 candles close in a direction; I do not wait for the candles to touch 62 EMA and then continue the trade.

I know there are a lot of experienced traders on FF...I would like to call all traders that have used this effective system to share their experiences and suggestions that may help other newbies like me to earn in fx

The main idea is using the M15 with the 10/35/50 MAs. It is not a crossover MA system, but rather a touch or bounce from the MA system (so is NOT a lagging indicator in that respect). All the main work was done by Clay (for stupid reasons he was forced to leave the thread), and my thread continued on his work.
My twist to that method includes taking profits at 10-15pips per trade which may fit your approach (80% winning ratios are not rare when you learn it).
Only thing is that the thread is big already and you may need sometime to go trough it.
