I haven't done the course with Rob but I do believe that he teaches some sensible trading like trading with the 5/13 MAs and then using proper Money Management.

I think he also advises new traders to aim for 10-15 pips a day.

If anyone knows better, correct me if I'm wrong.

No one-on-one training yet, however Rob Booker's subscriber ebooks have been part of my trading holy grail/trading tool kit from the moment I finished reading each one. His simple 5/13/62 EMA strategy has made me more money than almost any other technique I have applied. He is also extremely funny and keeps you from 'swinging for the fence' on every trade. Combined with insights from Van Tharp, Beau Diamond, this forum's resident gurus (you know who you are) and a variety of my own 'money engine' and hedging MM techniques, I have been very successful (10K Mini->15K Mini in 4.5 months). I hope to take Booker's one-on-one training soon just to learn more and get to talk to him. He and all those mentioned above should be bronzed as they taught an old Telecom/IT dog a new craft, or rather they allowed me to find my version of the craft.

I haven't done the 1:1 training but I recently attended his seminar in London and found it very useful and highly entertaining.

He went through different systems, strategies, team trading exercises and personal anecdotes. Plus it was good to meet other traders and share experiences too!

I think that he has one in Miami at the end of the month that might be worth checking out on his website.

I too...hiya Isotonic ...blue aka Nicky. I too went on London seminar...the first course and yep ~Rob's one of the good ones..took me a year from the first online seminar of his on fxstreet and you can look there at the past Q&A and find his seminar to check. He stuck in my mind, answers personally your emails and gets everyone interacting which as a solo newbie was just what I needed to encourage my learning curve. There is so much advertising and dodgy testimonials I found it different to sieve through and now I'm on the other books Thrap, Pring ..etc. bon chance.

I am taking Rob course right now ! He is a really down to earth person, i was
getting some mentorship from guy i met on ebay. He was more interested in
getting paid every dime of his mentorship fee upfront first before releasing anything on his method. I haven't gotten much help from this guy. Rob booker was referred to me by my broker. I think the training is good and very
reasonable priced at about $1,200 for the entire thing or $999 if you pay the
whole thing upfront. The guy i met on ebay wants people to pay him $3,200
and he doesn't have all his systems working yet.

Happy trading ,
Trademan

The reason i ask these questions is because I have spoken to a guy who took the 1 on 1 course. His feedback was it was over priced and he didnt suggest i take these lessons.

Has Rob Booker any qualifactions ie is he a certified technicall analysist.
If he is so good at trading, why is he teaching ?

Does Rob Booker read here ? Maybe he can answer for himself.

Many Thanks

trader6,

why not just check out his website......look at all those happy people smiling in the workshop photos

besides, the guy's got a sense of humor and in this dry business where one is alone most of the time......someone funny is worth their weight in gold....but i am sure he can teach us a thing or two

i have read a lot abt Booker also and nothing negative...and i do believe he hosts his member group at this site.

just waiting for him to come to Dubai......the guy knows more about the hotels in Dubai than i do and i live here....lol!!!

cheers y'all!!!

Bulletin to all legitimate users of the Forex Factory services: When you see spammers posting links to their email addresses and web sites on this forum you know they are in violation of the forum rules and more importantly you KNOW they know that they are. These spammers are not new to the internet nor are they naive. What they are is cheap opportunists who have no respect for others and have the idea that they are special people who can violate forum rules and expect impunity. Fact is they pretty much know that they'll be booted from the forum for doing it but they are so cheap they'll gladly sacrifice their integrity for the chance at a free buck. What that should tell you about these people is that they view you as a source of money for themselves and they'll cheat wherever they can to get your money.

Do you want to do business with people who are too stupid to recognize that in the quest for a quick buck they show their hand before you ever risk a single cent of your hard earned money with them? The resounding answer should be a big fat no!

If you as a trader learn to read what people are telling you by what they don't tell you -- you'll be a long way towards prospering in the markets. The market shows its hand too if you know what to look for and the thing you can most easily conclude about spammers is that they are not people you want to do business with.

Hi,

Actually I wasn't meaning to spam and sorry it was taken that way. Just thought it would be helpful providing feedback.

This is actually my first time using the forum and I did take Rob's course where I thought it was quite good. Not looking to get any business here other than sharing trade ideas. Quite frankly previous comment from the FT person was a bit discouraging and certainly a way to keep posts in line for your forum.

Regards,

Derek

Good response Derek. No malice and you removed the post. I withdraw my complaint and, if you have not been reading forum rules before posting, I encourage you to do so. We'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you did not know enough to read the rules when you signed up.

I'm glad to hear it is discouraging because we consider spammers open season on this forum. Merlin gets tons of it that we never even see but when it gets to us before he sees it we pounce.

Anyway welcome. Harsh initiation but if you can stand that and still stick around you'll be a great addition to the forum. Also feel free to jump all over spammers if you see any. When spammers appear here it is kind of like a mouse inadvertantly walking into a room with hungry cats wandering around.

rob booker is awesome. i love that guy.

about booker himself: he is a totally funny dude, but his best feature is that he actually cares about the people he's teaching. and he has none of that "look at me, i'm a big bad trader. you are inferior to my awesomeness" BS that a bunch of traders have. he brings a real human element to everything he does. he is just one of the guys who happened to learn how to trade and watnts to share with everyone else.

about his systems: i think he has like four or five different styles, all named after cities in arizona. i never really got into it, but thats just me. i know plenty of people have tried them and liked them. so i would say it's worth looking into.

about his psychology material: probably the best stuff he has out there. he talks about getting into the right mindest, prioritizing everything, taking breaks when losing, even eating right and staying healthy. he doesnt just give you information or a system. he gives you the wisdom and knowledge from an experienced trader. it's good stuff too. a lot of my current trading mindest was influenced by his little e-books. another cool thing is that most of this stuff is free!!!! (his e-books i mean)

so yeah, he's a cool dude. i would say check his stuff out. it's worth it.
