would those last 17 weeks include the first part of the NEW YEAR? just wondering?

I guess there are two different EU's, and the 'bigger' picture was the MONTHLY open's if you see my reference, I also said 'not that you are right or wrong,' ... which I meant 'be careful' and was giving a for-warning ...

Also, the 1 of the 2 bear openings for first couple weeks happened ... at the new year/January {profit taking and thin markets anyone?}

look at the chart, I have my own data base that I made with access, I just download the monthly info onto an excel sheet & also add in the 'news'/fundies and it automatically generates a report for me whenever I want it to show the averages for everything. I am saying, that the historical averages for gold show that the bull market is a lot more consistent for the first couple weeks into any new month on average, I even said I want to short also but I am going to hold off a little longer before going short again.

So when it comes to actual accumulated data please don't compare it to the past 17 weeks {which was also an unreliable comparison to in my opinion as the past 17 weeks INCLUDE the most choppy/profit-taking/OPPOSITE OF LIQUID markets all across the board for the whole year .. and also includes many other events to add to the illiquid markets to include Asian holidays.

Not trying to argue here, just stating a warning according to my data and even said 'it is in your charts', never said I was right either.

Last time I checked January is still consider part of EACH year. And in my book just as valid as any other month and also just as valid when looking for the high or low for the year. Doing a quick scan 2004, 2008 and 2009 are the exceptions. I might have missed one other. I don't think so though. And that is covering 12 years back to 1999.

Morning All,

According to me euro is bullish today towards 4017, 4022 and 4052.. i prefer to buy it.. so i m looking the 5m supports at 3966 3957, 3951 and 3939.. have a plan to pick the entry in between 3951-57 if it go there for taregt 4010..

Dec. & Jan ARE low volume, book-closing, profit-taking, choppy, ill-liquid markets in all aspects of trading {equities, currencies, etc}.

I am sure you know this, but some don't, but what makes a market choppy is when there are 'open' gaps/non-existent orders which in turn make the market choppy .. Dec/Jan are known for this.

I don't know where you are arguing from because I never said anyone was right or wrong, including myself.

You used the example of past 17 weeks, I used the past 11-12 months to disprove that {even though 17 weeks isn't what I was talking about when I was talking about the beginning of the month} and now you are saying 'historically' for years with the glance of your eyes when I have the hard data averages to show that 'historically' speaking on averages {no glances or opinions based on eye-scanning charts} that the gold market is bullish during the beginning of the month.

& like I said, never said 'dont or do' or 'right or wrong', I said 'be careful' because data doesn't lie. & that was based upon someone being 'under the impression' and not 'identifying and researching the market'.

Think the 50% fib from around Jul 2008 - June 2010 is a bad magnet ... we may do as far as 1.4200 but I don't like the past 3 months pull-down by the bears before the market close to make a new high every month ... but it seems profit taking on the USD has been on a decrease since last year {term profit-taking to be used very loosely}.

On the previous multi-month bull markets before hand ... there was no bears tugging away ...

I see this being a bear market before to long ... I think it will need some 'debt-fundies' from the EU to kick-start it ... range-play from 1.35-1.42 until then ... if we get upto 1.40+ again with a daily close above, I will start stacking heavy shorts with a SL around 1.428x

In the pic I said I don't like those 3 little guys, I meant I don't like them for a bull market ... I personally love them though ...

thanks, & good luck to you too, I just hate those moments when you get in to soon and miss out on 20-200 pips that were just neg. for a little bit ...

I had to many of those and vow to not do it again! but good luck, we are in the same airport headed to same location ... just different departure times!

{question is ... 'who' gets the better rate?}
