Anyone thinking short at this time is getting the "faking out". Unless that is they are thinking scalp short term. Why anybody bothers with that kind of strategy I'll never know.

Since I usually post loads of rubbish, I thought I would throw this out there. I've got the average yearly range for the E/U for the last 11 years (2000 - 2010) @ 2,211 pips. If 1.2872 turns out to be the bottom, then we could potentially see 1.50 this year given the average yearly range.

It could also turn around at 1.40 and go 2,200 pips down taking us back to 2010's lows in the 1.18 region. Just giving examples.

2010's range was 2,702 pips
2009's range was 2,687 pips
2008's range was 3,708 pips (even though it massively overshot in 2008, a hideous end-of-year spike took us back into average yearly range territory)

Since 2008 the volatility has picked up and the yearly ranges have increased but the average for the last 11 years I've got pegged at 2,211 pips.
Nothing worth having is easy.

Interesting shit Patience, havent thought about that. Not sure if ill integrate the theory into my longer trades though

Its still all just series of events and the price movements on my charts tend to be highly controlled by greed, but now, as risk appetite have increased it might just happen to reach 1.5 as long as greed will decrease that is...

I find it helpful to keep track of the yearly range especially when it comes to Sep-Dec period because "they" - ha ha - also generally like to do at least a 1,000 pip rally. So once you work out what direction they are going to take it (usually after September NFP), you can count on a damn good rally of at least 1,000 pips (in one direction).

But I also like to look at other weird things like sentiment readings and COT (which I noticed an esteemed member recently rubbished). Lot of rubbishing of trading methods going on in this thread but I always say "if it makes you money then ignore it".
