DislikedI'm dead serious in this question, which just occurred to me: why doesn't the CAD have a following as a "safe harbor" currency around the world? Canada grows far more food than it needs to feed itself, produces far more oil than they use themselves (I think??), is politically stable and fiscally prudent.
So what's wrong with that?Ignored
DislikedCanada dont have that history. Swiss Franc have centuries old history and proven track record. No matter what happens the Swiss has remained non-aligned and untouched by any war. Even during WW2.
They only joined UNO in 2002 and Schengen treaty as late as like 2006 or something.
They dont take any political sides and have protected both French art and German gold reserves during WW2. Its a safest harbor of the world.Ignored

Dislikedid rather trade the eur/cad.. cad is like the u.s., but with oil.. euro has a harder time getting a foothold over the cad or any commodity pair.
Canada has oil the ez does not. if the shit hits the fan europe and japan will pay more for energy.. its a big deal... transportation cost go higher.. oil is in all manufacturing cost... either its made with oil or delivered using oil.. it makes all things cost more.. so comes inflation... so they raise..... but when they cant export anything because of cost.. meanwhile food cost are still rising.. the...Ignored
DislikedFood for thought:
I would not be surprised if we had seen the top on Friday.
The moves down and up so far can all be counted as ABC-waves.
Maybe we are down in a leading diagonal, which comes as 3-3-3-3-3 move.
After each ABC we see deep retracements as you would expect in a leading diagonal.
We would now be in the 4th wave of this leading diagonal.
This leading diagonal will be labeled wave 1 (down). The following wave 2 up will retrace deep, normally 62-86%.
