Your statement was that it would kill their economies, my answer was that the economies of both Portugal and Ireland are very dead already. I did not say anything about them defaulting. Their spreads are beyond the point of return and they cannot afford to refinance their deficit at these rates, let alone their overall debt. Don't confuse deficit with debt please, they are entirely different.

Have you look @ the UK data lately...

The only things that ECB & UK said
it that they will raise rates ... to push the currency up...
but can the economy handle the rate hike????

What if US said they will raise rates ...?????

Reports are the Bundesbank and other European Banks are buying after there comments in mass, may show them trying to make a quick buck with the comments on top of Bernankes statements one of my sources tells me.

lol..they have more papermoney than toiletpaper. there is no way they will.

the problem is, you judge the economic data was you should judge it. eur has been bought the whole week, climaxing in the news todays. this is not a quick buck, a longer term plan.

stick the news, it was all on the charts.

before eur it was pound, silently out of the news after the big chunk buying during bad news was done.

Those two would be killed. But I think EU WANTS Portugal to accept bailout in March so they are putting the screws to them. Portugal has been "stubborn" in accepting EUs help.
