EU Example of PA Staging:

You can see from the attached pic that PA is in a range. But as we come closer to the curtain rising on the upcoming performance, we also see that PA is predominately occupying the upper half of the range.

Swings within this area are just part of what is necssary during this prolonged period of consolidation. Consolidation means "preparation for what is to come". And price swings are necessary to those preparations. As long as trading continues in both directions, there remains the opportunity for the Big Boys to get rid of what they don't want and acquire what they do want. Hence, within the consolidation range, the direction of swings offers no sure hint of future direction. They are just a tool the Big Boys use.

Volume can also be a tool used by the Big Boys during consolidation. For example, they might buy as necessary to keep the price from prematurely falling down out of the consolidation range, while building large short positions.

But, the fact that PA is favoring the upper region of the overall range as we get closer to the opening act, does lend itself to the speculation that the preparations are for a future move down.

I do try to construct a simple viewpoint on such matters. Forex trading is like an archery contest. You win the most by hitting the bulls eye from farthest out!

So, why would the Big Boys all line up close to the target to shoot, if they can all line up farther from the target and shoot?

Look at the UCad pic. I think the Bull Channel created was by the Big Boys constantly stepping further and further back, in preparation for their most winning shots.

Same as UCad, speculating a move up. But this has low range vs spread. So I don't often bother with it.

Added here at 0.9823 making EP average = 0.9858. This is not a SonicR entry, but an addition to a SonicR long trade at a swing low.

Be careful thru the announcements today. If there is a whipsaw up to run stops, your buy orders get executed and then the price whips back down maybe for a real run in the opposite direction......giving you a loss. Or, it could happen the same way in the opposite direction for those with close in sell orders and a real run upwards.

You can wait this out and let things settle down instead of risking such a close in entry.

Beginning the week of 11-23-2010, 69 trades since then. 66 closed.....all with profit. Currently 3 trades running and yet to be determined. 4229 pips/66 trades = 64 pips per trade average. Of the 3 open trades, 1 is down 90 pips. The other two are down about 20 pips each. Every single trade, good entry or bad entry, has been posted here and updated here thru to the closing of the trade. And, as much as practical, I have provided backward links in evey update post of a trade.

In less than 30 minutes, the final act of this performance begins. Indeed, Lasso Larry has swaggered the theater isles brandishing his whip. One wonders if he is just getting warmed up for the final curtain.

All in all, the show has been rather boring. But we knew that might be the case. Hopefully, the Dirctor has something in store for the ending that will reward our patience.

And since there are a couple of USD Medium Impact releases over the next several hours, this could be dragged out even more! But, as with some times in the past, PA reaction might not come until the "dust settles", and then suddenly.....maybe with final whipsawing, maybe not. And if this is to be the case, the intervening time will be spent holding PA at price extremes in last Big Money attempts to be at the farthest end of the field launching their "winningest" arrows.

Look at GU, for example. They might keep that upwards pressure on the price for a while (M15). But look at H4, it really is still in the womb, ready for delivery!
And the same with EU. They are keeping upwards pressure on it. Big Money is like the reluctant expectant mother.....not wanting to "deliver" while the impatient doctors are screaming, "Come on! Out with it, already!".
