I have a topic of discussion that I figured I would throw out there. I'm going to give it a try in a live account but probably in a few months. Right now, I figured I would just throw the topic out there.
Many times we hear about people testing EA's (easier to test since the trading can be automated) only to have them fail and fail big time. Well, I was just sitting here in my office thinking, why not take one of those ea's and trade it manually but in the opposite direction? For example, if you have an EA that you tested and it said it would give off 80% winners but your testing showed it only gave off 35% winners, wouldn't that be a great trading system if you did the opposite of the EA. You would end up with a winning percentage of 65%. Am I off in the stars with my idea/thinking or does this make sense to anybody else but me?
Like I said, I'm going to give it a shot with a small $100 amount but I figured I would share my thoughts with others to see what kind of conversation this can spark. The name of the game is making money. If you have something that just keeps failing time and time again, why not just do the opposite? An EA is to act based off a certain criteria. If that criteria is losing time and time again, can the EA be coded to do the opposite? If not, then you can always manually trade the EA and just sell when the EA gives a buy signal and vice versa.
