As far as volume goes, how does one measure volume in FX when there is no central bank or exchange as such for this to be measured against ie: where is the data for this so called volume coming from for the indicator to measure this as a whole in the FX market.

It is not possible ?

This is why in my opinion I think volume is not worth looking at in FX markets.

Hi, not sure if it was a rhetorical question but always someone who has no idea about this stuff...

The volume you get on FX is tick data = tick count from your broker, not the other 140-150 major banks nor other brokers nor other funds...

It has been proven to be around 80% similar too full volume though...

However as I said before, I trade stocks and I use volume. But I do so for seeing who is actually buying and not.

Stupid Example: morgan is buying for 40 million in aapl, selling again 2 days later for 80 million, even though the price is higher/or lower I would get out...

Actually, Red, I feel your chart is much more accurate than Mal's statement. Pros don't just "buy on down bars....sell on up bars".....which bars? What if there are more down bars or up bars afterward? In other words...where and when? They buy at support and sell at resistance - which is all on the chart, without tick volume. In a market where the only thing available is tick volume, I'd choose your approach over VSA any day of the week.....

In evidence of this, I would suggest that there is a map to the EuroUsd, which can be easily built using data from 2003 to 2009.....anyone on this board willing to put in the time could figure it out - and they would find that the levels are obeyed to this day. And they will continued to be obeyed.......

Ya I am well and truly aware that I could be wrong about it, as it is not something that I have looked into much for information as I was simply assuming that it would be hard for so much data to be collated, unlike with stocks where you have a central exchange. Hence my thought process and opinion regarding volume in FX.

With stocks you have the ability to see market depth as such where in the FX market you dont.

But everyone has their own trading style and plan. As long as your plan is working for you and you are remaining profitable then I would consider it a good plan and keep doing it. If that plan involves volume and it works then its all good ya. I simply choose not to look at for what I thought was a valid reason. Guess I will do a bit of reading on volume in the FX market and find out some more information so I am a bit more informed on the topic

It looks clearer for me to but I don't trade that way, but can def. see why many do...

Its funny how it only comes down to how you tweak money management and stop loss, take profit levels in the end...

I had a journal proving this market was random but I couldn't find it...

Narcissistic prick...................

Just kidding,,,,,,, well maybe

You never did (or I missed it) answered the "what the hell is a Muppet" question.

I've looked online and can't find anything to join. Is it so exclusive that I can't find a way to join, or do I need to look under another name (shmuck- shmoe-fool- retard), all good groups and worthy of my membership fees, but I need to know witch is associated with the muppet organisation.
I just need a little help. Thank you so much in advance.

The point is-"I'm tired of the muppet BS".

It's just as irrelevant as religion on this forum. I'm willing to read BS calls from every swinging d!ck with an opinion (not really, I skip stupid), but there is no reason for insult posts taking up space.

as you have stated - how do you know where the down bars stop?

it was an already predetermined discount to this demand zone, what M14 failled to show was to what level and why cable turned where it did, this was already PREDETERMINED to this level. It could have blown through, but like l said - not JUST BUYING on down bars but buying @ demand when PA gave entry - higher lows ............... don't need volume to see high lows @ a demand zone

The real question is, if there is no volume, and no price, is there enough tinfoil to make us all new hats for Monday open?

Thanks. Any reply is all good. Because I was beginning to think any reference I made to this point was getting filtered out somehow by some strange power (maybe some other tinfoil wearers) but somehow it was showing on my screen.

If only ........

But meanwhile stockholders of record ($59.48) when the spill happened are still underwater and as far as the smart money buying at the bottom. Who knows how long they held?

Although this is a game of speculation I wouldn't speculate too long on this.

BTW the chart I have of BP shows June 9th, '10 as climatic sell volume roughly 4 times as much and some 14 trading days before the actually bottom on June 28th.

Hello again, good time to be looking for a short in EUR/USD on any rally soon after the opening - stops above 3680, target 1 2870, target 2 2540, target 3 1920. Relevant time horizon for position - weekly. Expected moment of reaching target 3 - 2-3 months. Decent risk reward, recommended position size medium.

P.S. Also expecting to see a retest of the 1.40 level in cable some time this year, probably in the first 6 months.
Ignored
I'll quote that call again because I feel it got kinda lost in the academic discussion which followed.
