But he said "quant," not "trader."

For the latter, it's not essential.

But for the former, it is in a couple of ways. A big part of their job is to turn theory, or published ideas, into testable constructs and implement them if they look good. That means they have to be able to understand and distill down what's being written in journals or books or spoken in conferences. The degree in one of those things is just the training to do that.

This market will prove once again, this time to some guys in Japan, that these little holidays aren't always such a good idea. I'm off to bed, short. And tonight, I have the feeling I'm going to wake up short.

I thought the idea was to trade the market.. not quantify it or theorize it...

Maybe they are looking for experienced traders who actually trade the market and know how to trade the market and not theoretical gains via back testing..

Hi everybdy.prefer the bear count tho..especially when the H&S appears daily/4HR..plus US gaining same strength since yesterday with the aussie , kiwi,jappy etc..i think tension in egypt change the sentiment..advantage for the dollar..jus my opinion..

I got ATR dejour to be hitting in at 3503, which seems to coincide with H4 200EMA @ around 3508...

I ain't saying we turn n burn from there, but I will be taking a little more profit if we get there to be sure....

Does anyone have an accurate assessment for the neckline of the major Head & Shoulders we may possibly be forming?

My chart says around 1.353, but I'm not too good at creating sloping necklines, as I see most chartists draw it through candles vs the base of wick.

if i look at my M15 then it needs some retrace towards 3594.. M15 supports below are now at 3546, 3530 and 3511 while the resistances are now at 3578, 3594 and 3603.. i have 3511 is the more specific figure below that i only have one figure and that is 3473..
