nur exemplarisch, um die methodik zu üben. so ziemlich alles, was meine plattformen hergeben. es passiert allerdings nicht oft, dass sich alpha-targets so früh ausbilden lassen, dass man wirklich darauf traden könnte.
im eu liegt das alpha-target bei 1.47xx und war schon im juni 2010 im chart zusehen, aber nach dem einbruch bei 428x... nun, ich halte keine long position, wenn sie 1000 pips zu mir zurück kommt. und bei 1000 pips verliere ich auch das vertrauen in das target... aber wer weiß, china wird's schon richten.

Any advice on the max # of pips drawdown before its time to rethink trade and maybe just exit? I keep getting caught in trades and many times I just cancel my SL. Thanks.

Although I am hoping to see a strong correction south, here is why I think the long term direction is north:

here is the chart of the COT (Committment of traders) on the dollar index.
The lower the green line, the less big traders are buying dollar, the upper the EURUSD chart. Last data came on friday is like that:

not sure if just a Portugal auction alone is enough to push it to that .. maybe, but no way of knowing ... What I am considering is the fact that Asia is on a week-long holiday & the ACB's were big Euro buyers ...

I never look at the # of pips before exiting. Look at the charts and determine a point at which IF price comes to and crosses, you KNOW you picked the wrong side. I look at this before I place the trade so I know exactly how many pips away that is.

Then I adjust my position size so that this trade is no more than 1% of my account balance if I lose. Then check to the upside. If potential is more than the distance to my stop, I take the trade. If not, I sit and wait for a better entry.

Hope that helps/makes sense.
