footprint too big, memory consumption is too high, and it is windows in general. once you got used to something else, you cannot stand the hassle to think about, where you might find something, or going to the registry.
today i tried to install ninjatrader... to no avail. i edited config-files, updated .NET-Framework... had to reboot approx. 6-7 times... that was when I thought, no way am I going to waste my time with this. re-activated the winxp-snapshot and booted in 8 seconds, everything there...
'footprint' 'memory consumption', Not trying to be argumentative but I think that isn't a windows 7 problem as I run back-test all the time for programs and such ... for example, Adobe Premiere for Video editing and the windows 7 machine is very precise and efficient. You might want to look into making sure your hardware items are all updated to the latest driver.

Inverted H&S on gold atleast, but I favor the downside in this for the short-term, if SL is triggered, will go long.

Updated Pics, anyone not following Gold & Silver, look at these images ... Might also indicate the Aud/Usd future ... just a thought ... not to mention for carry trades ... selling gold & silver provide for a positive rollover no matter what !.

Xau/Gbp Xau/Eur Xau/Chf, etc. all have similar setups coming around.

the system has to run as a virtualized guest on a macbook pro in coherence mode, so any application blends seamlessly into mac os x. windows 7 is just wasting too much memory for doing that.
next to anything else i'm doing all you can imagine starting from editing videos, compressing audio on the fly while windows hosts both my mt4 platforms.

so i really don't need windows 7. i didn't say it sucked generally, it's just bloated for my use.

On alert, and currently flat without commitment.

The 200 EMA is more of a dynamic target, for what I am watching and trading. So carried a couple shorties on them as they seemed to have the greater strength in weakness...Watching and trading USDCAD as a strength/weakness indicator for the cross correlated USD pairs, I haven't been sold on their weakness of yet. Yeah, there is a playable range, but given the amount of time it took me to exit my shorties prior to rollover, I haven't been eager to hammer any more on that fire.

I am buying USDCAD...I realize that it looks terrible, but sentiment as it is, the Canucks favor a stronger yank, beings how it helps our economy and oil/gas prices.

Watching the way the respective pairs trades allows for a little safer scalp ranges. Seeing dragon bounce on 5m support, and knowing that the first bounce will typically repeat tells me that when it drops back into sell cycle, there is a good probability that I could grab a couple quickies on cable...same with Euro pairs.

All that being said...EG is currently below daily roll, so I go into trades assuming that the Euro pairs at current will see the quicker shakes...that and my spread is a little better on EU then others, will look to these for the triggers on trend on 1m chart.

So, long story short...

I am cherry picking the hell out of market right now.

Happier to sit then gamble...

the pair always wants its pip. missed by one. if it gets it w/o touching 13 then it should go to 3078

1m trigger chart...

Showing support with a little strength on the stochs...we could lull into a no profitable short range...

These are the times I likes to sit on my hands, flip to a 5m and wait for direction...

oh, you mean you are running 'bootcamp' .

Sorry, I completely didn't read or see that you were talking about running it on a Mac {if that is correct} ...

If you are talking about the Mac, I know what you are talking about, I attribute that NOT to Windows 7 but the fact that you have to partition your drive which greatly reduces the performance.

Windows XP just needs less 'equipment' to run and is already partitioned to your drive from before so running it is easy.

From what I understand now, the reason why Windows 7 is running crappy on your computer is the flow of the tech behind it and what it can handle

i.e. ... windows xp < Mac os/bootcamp< windows 7

If you run any windows on a Mac, you aren't really getting the true value of windows.

I think the biggest flaw in computer technology is that it is 'one size fits all' and unless you spend a lot of time tweaking and fine-tuning it to your needs, you aren't going to get everything out of it that you possibly can.

Mr. Hatch, that explains why you have had problems with Windows 7, you are just running it on your Mac. If you are a 'die-hard' Mac fan, don't let that ruin your thoughts for Windows 7.

no, i don't use bootcamp. look at my dock and where the startmenu of windows is situated

i know little about it. but my daughter runs it on mac. she trades also. and many broker platforms aren't mac compatible. she has no problem with windows 7 on her mac. .
