that's nice. if you have the time, I'd be interested in what creates this behaviour inside a mofu as well. is it indecision, or algos, or what makes it jump back and forth.

AUSTRALIA-ECONOMY/FLOODS (URGENT)
SYDNEY, Jan 12 (Reuters) - Floods inundating Australia's state of Queensland could cut up to 1 percentage point from economic growth, a member of the Reserve Bank of Australia's board was reported as saying, the largest estimate yet for the potential damage.
Warren McKibbin, an academic and a member of the central bank's policy making board, was quoted in the Sydney Morning Herald as saying a fair chunk of Queensland's economy had just stopped.
"If you look at the infrastructure damage and all the networks that have been broken, a hit to the economy of 1 per cent is not out of the question," McKibbin said.
A percentage point of Australia's A$1.3 trillion in annual gross domestic product (GDP) is equal to around A$13 billion. Most bank economists had estimated the drag could be at most 0.5 percentage points, with rebuilding adding to growth once the floods had passed. (Reporting by Wayne Cole)

I've been reading this thread for over a week (yes, I'm a newbie here) and have been wondering when somebody would have the combination of common sense and self assurance to post something like this, one of the simplest and most effective (and believe it or not, used by some "big money" in only slightly more complicated form) entry/exit disciplines in existence.

But, you say, if it's so simple, why doesn't everyone use it? Largely because it is so damned simple: no hyper mathematics, no mystical sequences of numbers, no images rivaling Jackson Pollack (400 bucks for a knockoff?).

And one other reason: When prices park on top of emas, the latter flatten and become noisy. It's in their math. So if you blindly trade their crosses each and every time, you're blindly trading a chop range, and the stops get hit and hit until the prices move away from the one, taking the other along with them. So one still need some feel for PA, or, at least, some sense of what "flat" means when you see it on line.

But overall, IMO, an excellent ... I'll call it 'discipline' because it's too broad and basic to be a 'system'.

PS. Maybe those are SMA's, and they could be [??]MA's or John Ehlers' digital filters or whatever. Same thing attains; all of those are just weighted sums of past prices, differing only in the weights, not the concept.

eu from 1.2900, gu i was sceptic about price action, but performed better.

i would not take another long till tomorrow, short right now with trailing stop eu, gu.

not a good time. you want both above 70 or 80 for short.. or below 20 30 for a long. with candle confirmation. hopefully before this you have a reason from a s/r. if you didn't know about 16. you wouldn't be scared.

I didn't trade that two trade, but there are some people always just like to make a comments before even try to understand what you are trying to say here.

anyway. for me tomorrow is a new day. i have as always my condition even for the uptrend or downtrend. let's see which one will be confirmed first.

OldQ...

We all have ways of seeing what we see and take trades based on the information in front of us. Some by way of fundamentals, some by way of reading a thread, and some by indicators.

I have for years worked with moving averages and have gained a great appreciation for their own specific magic. Trend analysis, targets, ranges and the chart I had posted is most specific for being used as an ATR and a counter trend player.

I know them 2 lines are going to cross everyday...will happen after every major movement, but what might shock you is how well they do work if you were to watch. I have posted several charts with these, and my counter trend trades based on them. You can set a line on the cross, wait for a hundred and take a counter trend for profit. IF price ever moves to 200, hit it with everything you can afford, because there is a reversal point.

I don't recommend everybody play by this, but having a set of eyes might help ya capture a few more...I am just over 9k for the day, slept through London, woke up late during NY and the bulk of my trades were short. (not all EU) I have 1 broker with a set of these charts for all the pairs I trade. I may not get every trade, but I get enough to keep things interesting....

An example of the 100 pip counter...scroll back on your charts, you might be a little shocked...
