i suspect the broker earns money from all who do not call in? do they bother removing that spike from the charts?

I didn't have an open trade however if I did I'd be furious. I just called, stayed on hold for a few minutes, and said screw it.

My point wasn't to bash IBFX as they have been good so far and the more you read about retail brokers the more they all sound like scams.

Between today and tomorrow its very risky to trade the EUR unless you plan to get in and out quickly. Tomorrow is Spain and Italy's bond auction - look for alot of surprises there too and dont be so quick to go short, you have to be patient.

If you want to go short wait til the price gets to 1.3180 to 1.3200

Ok, well at least now we know it was them and not a data feed issue. It's probably the reason their phones are jammed too.

MindfulOne: Understood. Always keep your brokers number on speed dial and for future, you have a very tight window within which to call when these things happen and you will get back your money. If not, you report them, ofcourse, you can kiss your relationship with them goodbye and you just move on.

Mike, now we can come back to our prev discussion. I posted my long term view on new years eve. In any case, here are the charts again.

I agree with the monthly downtrend. However, from a TA perspective I wouldn't take the rejection of the last low swing (nov 2008) that lightly and thats why I have that line in the quarterly chart for potential triggers to both sides.

On the other hand from a fundamental perspective, trading outside of the yearly range in the next couple of years seems very difficult to both sides without a major catastrophe (euro or dollar collapse). After 10 years of the euro I think the bands are clear for a long time. "Ranging" inside the yearly cap is probably the most realistic floating scenario for the pair.

The trading plan didn't quite go to the letter. A few stop-outs, re-entries.

But whaddayaknow.... 1.31XX we made it. I'm just 80 pips shy. But no need to worry about that just yet.
A pip is only worth it if you know how much you risked to earn it
