Here they are ... the latest interbank rates from Friday - December 31th ...

As you can see ... highest been given has been aprox. 1.3424 ... after this high we saw a drift down towards 1.3331 zone ... and then a pullback towards 1.339x area and a late closing/clôture...

Here they are ... our beloved opening interbank rates from Sunday - January 02 ...

As you can see ... highest been given has been aprox. 1.3388 (once more no GAP therefore) ... after this open high we saw a move down towards below 1.3328 zone ... and now a pullback towards 1.3348 area and we had first opening/ouverture around 1.3381-87 ...

No matter if your finance services plug in or not ... markets are open since more than two hours under Interbank rules and conditions ...

And of course there has not been no Gap as nearly always ...

Okay ... and open rate has been at 1.3381/87 ... as you can see ...

wow, looking at the weekend graphs, Eur/Usd & Aud/Usd have been ranging over 50 pips for a couple waves ...

I am short biased with these pairs for the time being {going of fundamentals} but this should make for an interesting week.

Question is, will the market still be somewhat thin until next week?

your pdf shows sunday 21.50gmt but now it is 21.38gmt ?
i´m a bit confused, is it meant 20.50gmt?
on xe.com now it is 33487, my fxcm shows 33465

....many MT4 brokers will show a 'gap' as they open for business after the market officially does. I would expect a run to 1.3381 before anything major happens. (News permitting).

Although, not proper gaps, these usually get filled within a session or so.

Let's see......

There's around a -40 gap from the close Friday afternoon.. 13389 price now 13347-49

Got 3 feeds all giving me the same price.

It's possibly looking weak.

Not a real gap. Markets have been open for a few hours now. They opened as they closed on Friday.

But I have re-checked now ...

And now I must say ... no ... no no ... everything fine and ok there ...

It says 15:50 EST / 2050 GMT (21h50 CET) ...

BTW ... a happy new year to you too ...

if you trade exotics then you might get a few hundred points GAP LOL....

A gap for who?
I trade Oanda. They've been open for business for over 3 hours. Their price feed went as low as 3327. They opened at the same price as Friday's close. The 'gap' you are seeing is normal Sunday evening market moves. If your broker isn't open for business yet, you will see a gap, but there officially isn't one.

Not a big gap... Friday closed at 1.3361 and its showing on fxstreet.com live quote at 1.3348

Oanda closed on Friday at 3381. They didn't finish early. I know some brokers did though.

Oanada are just a broker.

Aussie is open and NZ they can't move these markets London and NY are the big players. The Japanese open in a few hours.


GAPS anyway are better traded on indices I find than forex. Don't bother trading them on forex myself.

Rattyo, you got it all wrong... the forex market runs afterhours too, hotel rates and stuff manipulates the quote you see during the weekend hours...
