there is still 'speculative trading' going on, I wouldn't say 'rule out' the "Tech Analysis', I would say to keep only on 'strong' tech analysis with either tight SL's or floating if you have the margin for a couple hundred pip drifts.

Also gotta factor in that the usual 'fundamentals' that move the market for one hour can potentially draw out it's role to be greater then that & form a new trend.

I have been profitable this week & can show several charts where I based my trades of Tech, Just can't depend on it 100% and have to expect random break-outs.

But going with the anti-trend movement, A big part of that has been knowing where the 'random moves' were coming from.

In this case, Asian banks, exporters, etc. selling the usd & buying Euro. China's interest rate hike was minimal compared to what it needs to be & will be, thus the 'demand' for commodities is still high for the time being.

Nothing wrong with Tech analysis, as long as your game plan is tight and you are doing more then staring at a chart waiting for an entry.

And you have to remember, you are only 1 trader & you are the only one looking at your charts & doing your research. Others might see what you don't and might be doing research & finding information & using that information in a different way then you.

To me, it looks like we've had some accumulation going on down near these recent lows -we can't break'em and shorts seem to stack up heavily when we try. I normally follow hourly's and they've swung positive and my daily is breaching the downtrend and swinging positive as well. Plunging in for half my long position at 13225 and if we try the lows again will buy the other half there. Will average and use a 150 pt stop. Chart shows a daily w/MA's and 20 degree trend I use (same meth'd on hrly and 15m)

4 lower tops, plus bearish 4h close {2 minutes ago} .. we might be in a downward movement for a little bit.

Maybe we'll get a reprieve from the Asian banks "bidding it up" since the banks in Japan are on holiday today(tomorrow).

If you got to a 30min EUR/USD chart and draw all the trendlines as it relates to the bullish momentum - we have officially had our first trendline break to move to the next trendline etc etc all the way back down.

Turn after words to the 3H chart and if the bears have it, a classic tweezer top is being formed, thats with (the past December 28th 5am Eastern candle and this current 8pm Eastern candle)...
The 3 trend lines (parallel to center line) do seem to confirm that the top trend line has been broken since some time ago and that PA has mostly moved below it.

I see your 1.3240 Pending order for a short entry worked out great. The trendline break pn the 30min actually opened at 1.32421 So you were spot on.

actually if you read my comments, I made 22 pips on the AU, I am floating my EU, Long usd was stopped ... & floating Silver, not gold.

But that isn't gloating about calling out trend lines 5 minutes before & after & then down-talking others for making bad calls. Nice try though!
