Yeah I thought about that earlier, made a mental note to remove my TP @ 1.3145 when I got home depending on market movement, and forgot about it when I finally got around to sitting at my computer.

Lesson learned though.

just wondering what platform are you using? seems like a pretty decent platform .. im using igmarkets.. and thinking of opening one with fxcm ... what platform are u using? thanks

I don't think the word 'calculation' is correct ...

If you are new to this, don't use anything below a 1h chart {IMO}. the 30m, 15m, etc are for experienced user who know what they are looking for.

Start with a monthly chart and set the highs & lows for past trends, same for a weekly & daily. This will give you an idea of the strong areas of support and resistance.

After you plot those horizontal lines of support & resistance, switch to 4h & 1h view and then just scroll through the past 10 years to see how the time reacted to those points. You will be suprised!

After you do that, go back in history and plot some Fib's to see how the reaction to those were. History is the best teacher and this is the best way to teach yourself how these techniques work.

IMO, most indicators are the same ... they just show data in a different format.

But again, for yourself, mess around with all the tools at your disposable and practice on history, scroll back to the early 2000's, plot the fib's and resistance, and then scroll forward and see if you did it correctly!

As far as anyone popping out numbers here, there is no magic calculation for how they came up with these numbers. I personally believe that 90% of good predictions {random % number to emphasis the point} come from past S/R from highs & lows, Fib, trend-lines & MA's.

don't bother looking at anything under the 1h chart until you can properly identify trends, s/r, etc.

Good day guys. Obviously i'm a newbie here, but not totally as i've been on the sidelines making cool cash from your posts. I like the technicalities and the approaches many of you use.

But lately, there've been too many experts and since i'm not good with the technicalities involved, i can't trade off your posts again. Truth is, i've made lots of loses and then i realised i have to learn the technicalities myself.

So from time to time, guys, i may just bother y'all a bit. Thanks.

What's happening Gator?

You bail on the shorts or holding steady?

I'm holding them thru this year's boredom (so far). This week looks promising courtesy of a PBOC impetus. Gives the market a reason to see how far this stone can fall.

Good entry was near was 1.3165 and you had the odds in your favor. I would not enter at 1.3150 however that is me and that is why I do not suggest where to enter or exit since things can change in seconds and someone following would do the trade but not know what to do after.

There is an excellent point here. The pyschology of trading is very important. Understanding human nature is very important.

Be patient and have a Trade Plan and stick to it using Risk Management and proper entry and exit.

That is good counsel not where to short or go long because the perceptions are confused because Money Flow is ignored. How does the chart know that the Dow will go down 250 on Wednesday ?

At least use a chart of the Dow. There is a correlation between Dow down and EUR/USD down. We are on Holiday Mode so behaviour is different for obvious reasons. Do not overtrade.

Standing aside is trading.

lol, I find that image so hilarious, because it pretty much sums up religion.

yes for now i am.. if 3030 is breached i think we got 500 (maybe more)more in 250 pip blocks. i target 3026 + slip as the wave we are in atm

still holding shorts at no cost for around 3130 & if breaks by chance here then for to pullback area 3096.3137 good tp area though .
