Gotcha. I demo and trade through MT4 & Alpari. Been pretty happy with it, and plus, I am a programmer so I am loving the ability to write all this custom stuff that I may or may not need.

Really, my only gripe is the order entry. But, I am going to write a quick script that will put buy, sell, and close buttons onto the current chart.

order-entry is not for the faint of heart, it takes time... and time... and time.
i wonder how you can scalp with that?

alpari... yes. since i found out that they screw very good settings up by closing candles at inconvenient times... i don't like them any more. that's alpari.co.uk.

1.5 hours till close. whoever is driving, the will fight, will be over 3125 and the tl about 3112+ ish.. a close below 3111 should settle it. this would also give a 2 days and a weekly close below 3189....and a tl in the 3150 area... this is all below 2 major tl and 2 major fibs if it happens today. if this happens.. we may be at the top atm.. i expect 2969 before dec. close maybe 2804.. then to continue early next year. 3189 is a big #... we got a weekly close below it.. (a daily close above 3125 may mean its not ripe just yet but 3189 is still there)

Hmm. I havn't noticed that with US, but, I generally only trade the 1h and greater so it is may not be that noticeable to me if it is happening.

As for the order entry, not a problem. I have already written several EA's that have successfully blown out my demo account. LOL.

It turns out, it's really hard to program the idea of 'bouncing' and 'breakthroughs'... .

My most successful EA netted me about 1,000 pips after 1 year on E/U. It was something as silly as buying/selling based off of the daily open and PP level and setting a target profit at the next S1/R1.

Other then that, I can't get them to do much better then a 50% win ratio.

as soon as i found out, what ea meant, i decided that i didn't like the idea behind it. there is nothing wrong with keeping things as simple as they could be, but an ea puts me out of it... well and keeps me out of it when it comes to making mistakes based on human misconceptions.

but the important question should be: are the eas more proficient than your manual approach?

That's the thing. I was in love with the idea of an EA when I first heard about it. For the same reasons that you stated above. Taking out all emotions and subjective-ness. They are purely mechanical.

My trading techniques just have way to much left up for interpretation. IE did we bounce the current level, did we break through, are we consolidating on the current level.

If I could find a way to answer those questions in a programmatic fashion, life would be good. But until I can find a way to do that, I am far more accurate with manual trading.

I am sure it can be done, but that type of programming is beyond my skill level. That is, programming with an algorithmic style.

when i just take the fib-levels as a basis for a flow-chart, even this would come close to creating some kind of articficial intelligence in the form of an ea... i agree, that's hard - and by the time you will have succeeded, you could have collected huge amounts of pips manually.

the emotional component is where trading becomes tricky, but that's just a process of adjusting yourself. turn on trading station, turn off emotions. meet wife, turn emotions on again

where does the tl come into play in your charts? it's 3045 on mine, but i still suck a reading the price off of a tl.

There are 3 options for EU, but only 2 ways it can go.

I would expect down myself, but there are a couple areas above it can still re-test.

this is still daily play, as I see it. we need to cross the low and the purple line from 2008. when I look closely, it comes in at 3038, but I am not sure of this. and it's not the parallel line of the tops. that one we crossed already.

This PA today is horrible
We like volatility!!! Oh, well Christmas volume...

Have you guys looked at gold? If the trendline maintains then eurusd might actually go down...

What do you guys think the outcome will be? What's your sentiment.
I'm with bearish sentiment but it really seems well for a correction with all this price exhaustion.
