Should go lower at first ... towards 1.3095 or even to 1.3049 - 1.3029 later then ... but 1.3226 - 1.3258 or 1.3279 could be hit as well in corrective moves ... and above that even 1.3318 might be revisited (unlikely atm) ... 1.3132 or 1.3092 - 1.3080 might offer prop up at first ... be aware that Elliott still points down towards 1.3086 or 1.3045 ... entgültige Planung und Entscheidung kommt dann erst später ...

Economy Indicator EU for this week,

 

  1. German PPI: Monday, 7:00. Producer prices have risen gradually in the past two months. Europe’s powerhouse saw a rise of 0.4% last month. A slower rise in prices is likely to be seen now.
  2. Current Account: Monday, 9:00. Contrary to the trade balance figure, the current account, including also services and cash in addition to goods, is in a deficit. Last month saw a disappointing deficit – 13.1 billion. A correction is expected this time, with a small deficit.
  3. Consumer Confidence: Monday, 15:00. This survey of 2300 consumers is an official figure from Eurostat. It’s been in the negative zone for a long time, meaning pessimism. The score of -10 seen last month will probably prevail for another month.
  4. German GfK Consumer Climate: Tuesday, 7:00. Europe’s largest economy saw a surprising rise in confidence last month. 2000 consumers have pushed the score to 5.5 points, continuing a steady rise seen for many months. Another small rise is predicted now.
  5. NBB Business Climate: Wednesday, 14:00. Despite coming from a small country, Belgium, this wide survey of 6000 businesses always moves the Euro. Last month was great, with a rise above 0 – meaning improving conditions after a long time of deteriorating conditions. The score is expected to remain at positive ground, rising slightly higher than 0.8 points.
  6. French Consumer Spending: Thursday, 7:45. Europe’s second largest economy sees high volatility in spending. After a surprising rise two months ago, consumer spending unexpectedly fell last time by 0.7%. A small rise is predicted now.

The dramatic downgrading of Irish debt by five levels sent the cost of the country's borrowing up, as yields - the returns demanded by wary investors - on 10-year government bonds rose more than 24 basis points to pass 8.6pc.


If Ireland cannot stabilise its debt then further revisions may follow, warned Moody's, which has also told Greece and Spain their ratings could fall.


"I don't understand what they do," Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, said of the agency's latest move. "This decision – I simply call it stunning."

However, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) warned that Ireland is not on track to hit its target of achieving a budget deficit of 3pc of GDP by 2015. The beleaguered nation faces significant risks that could affect its ability to repay the IMF's share of the €85bn (£72bn) international bail-out it received, the fund said.


The European Central Bank (ECB) on Friday said it has arranged to borrow up to £10bn from the Bank of England in a temporary swap to ease liquidity at Irish banks.

i dont really think they will intervene in the forex market they want a devalued euro to support repay future debt but the will focus on bond buying and lowering the interest rate but that will but germany in high inflation so their in deeep trouble

Here are my main points. Due to the timing of the downgrade and the ECB discussions I do not think the markets have yet factored in the downgrade.

The market when they see news such as this deals with it at the level of the bonds. The powers that be meet and try to make it seem that they have it under control. They do not and it is a very serious problem.

Imagine if there was no downgrade by Moody's then the odds are that EUR/USD would have been up by 100 PIPS.

That is why the ECB is so upset. They were shown to be almost useless in their actions.

We have the same situation in the USA with the FED. Bill Gross of Pimco no small player in the Bond market said he understands Bernake and QE2 but it is a big Ponzi scheme. So here we have QE2 and the Yields have skyrocketed in the USA. The markets are telling Bernake WE are selling you as much of those US Bonds that you want so the US Bonds sold off and Yields went up and the US Dollar went up.

In Europe it is too early for the effect on EUR/USD to be seen.

Bottom Line it is a race to the bottom. Who gets there first ?

The Euro or the US Dollar.

Gold is at $1,375 US now. That is because the US Dollar is losing value as the FED prints Billions approaching Trillions to pay their bills.

Debt upon Debt.

Try to read contrarian FREE websites such as WWW.JSMINESET.COM to understand these news items without the spin and with proper analysis.

I read your journal started in April. Why did you stop posting there ?

I hope it was not because of disruptive posters. One of the reasons that I post while I am trading is that it is a form of trading journal for me. It helps to clarify my thoughts by posting while I trade. I also enjoy the interaction while being wise enough not to fall into anyone's ego issues while posting.
