The pair ended the week on a bearish note, the reason being new fears related to the public debt of the countries situated at the periphery of the euro-zone. My expectation voiced in the morning (I had an upside bias) were negated. The first level of support (near 1,3270) gave in and the pair bounced only at my second support (near 1,3120).
My preferred oscillator (RSX on 14 periods) is saying now that on the short term we are a little oversold. Also the pair is at the first band of support. But, having in mind that usually the week before Christmas and the week after are very low on liquidity, anything could happen in the following 10 trading days. If you don’t believe that, just look at the charts from December 2008.
I’ll be back on Monday morning (during London open) with new support and resistance levels. For Sunday night I just prefer to stay on the sideline.

range is 1.3300 to 1.3180 with outer limits 1.3050 to 1.3490 .. that simple

once you see a range form making money is easy ... much easier than in a trend IMHO as entries and exits on range limit are exact and very small stops are required.
I don't know Malcolm. Sometimes I have big winners just going the opposite of your advise.

i think they r quiet ok , IF we'll have an uptrend....

tough i think eu will drop more next week due irish issues etc....

I'll be bear in EU this week, bull in UJ and I'm still thinking about CAD, probably bull. I think UJ could go up to the 85.80 resistance

it's 3151 currently. damn, it doesn't look good for my long at 3155 from late Friday, but I'm still optimistic about it.

Hi,

I need help in clarifying some issues here.

The rate for eur/usd is 1.31510 now. My broker is still showing 1.3173. So if I open a position of short now at 1.3173, when my broker opens for trading n the rate us still 1.3151, does it mean that I'll make 22 pips straight away?

Best of luck to both of us and of course other short term longs ...

I usually trade intraday, rarely leave trade open over night or the weekend. I had a good day on Friday and made an exception.

Charts, especially daily one tells me there is much more bearish song for EUR. so, taking this long was for about quick 40p on possible short retrace. I'd be very careful with longs currently.

you can target 1.9 all you wish.. the fact is Germany is what keeping the ez afloat. w/o a buyer of exports Germany sinks. at such a high cost (1.9) of products you will loose a major market for exports (U.S.). at the same time you will exports the Chindia ect. since many Asian currencies are pegged to the usd. At the same time Ez markets will be flooded with cheaper imports from the rest of the world. I'm baffled into the reasoning many get pissed at not having a cheaper euro. All it does is level the playing field. a 1.9 euro will just starve Europe. Exports and tourism will suffer. After that happens Germany will loose its Ez internal sales. either lower the euro or die with it.. the higher it goes the less likely they can pay their debt. on the other hand they have to worry about inflation.. so its a cluster phuck... a cluster phuck increases odds of failure. higher rates on bonds and increasing social cost just makes each country owe more. Germany is writing blank checks to give other countries social welfare.
