AU:

40 pips profit, per attached. This is trade from last week, added to early this week, which finally came to fruition after hanging on without SL,......not an adviseable way to trade.

Today's move could spell a new and larger movement down, as there is a quasi Head and Shoulders formation on the Daily, and PA must first regain the Neckline area below the current price.

So this is worth watching for a new SonicR entry, either up for a pullback on this last move, or the next downwards move, which could again be substantial.

Basber, thank you for posting your targets.

I am in this short trade from last week, where I last added (ref post #15710). My "up close TP" is 1.3108, for reasons obvious in the 3nd pic.

It is interesting that your "further out TP" of 1.3030 not only aligns with Daily/Weekly resistance, but also is in the vacinity of a lower TL (should PA not linger too long before moving on down) as shown in 4th pic.

That 4th pic also suggests a series of lower TPs, all the way down to a major TL, possibly ending with a TP well below 1.8000, over 1,400 pips below the current price. Alas, too long to hold a SonicR trade!

I thank Doncex and Basber, and all others for their expressions of appreciation. I truely do!

I understand appreciation, because I myself am so appreciative of Sonicdeejay for first inviting me to join his thread. Due to the tireless sharing of members, I know I am growing as a profitable trader. I still make mistakes, some big ones too. But the growth process made possible by this SonicR thread will in time take me to the required levels necessary to deal with the causes of them all.

And for this reason, I am appeciative of not only Sonicdeejay, the Master of SonicR, but to all of you that put thought and effort behind your posts and charts with trades well defined as to reason, EP, TP(s) and SL(s).

All of you are the heart and blood of this thread. I am just one of you.

As for Sonic, I am sure he stands by with the "paddles" in case we falter!

Sonic Rules tell us that :" look for the candle go bellow under white line (under
band of tunnel dragon indicator) and wait till the candle closes"

It means that the candle I mention bellow is right, or your candle is right?

This is not a pair often traded here. It is all KevinChan's fault that it is now here! Well, actually, I think Basber hinted about a strategy involving EG, so maybe he is to blame, also!

I entered this short yesterday, went to bed, and awoke to see it much higher (no SL, one of the problems to deal with) and so I added to the short, yielding the EP average of 0.8503.

I find the Daily chart interesting, because price is at the top of a "W" formation, at which point it either goes up double the height, or back down to/past mid-height of the "W". Since it has already popped up and failed, it looks good for a move down, maybe to the blue resistance area marked in the 2nd pic. However, I am confident traders will drive it up again before any substantial leg down. That is, after all, how the PPMs play the forex game.

Since Basber mentioned a strategy, I've been thinking on EG. If the dollar looks to be getting weaker in EU and GU, which do you trade? Look at EG and pick the stronger. If the dollar looks to be getting stronger in EU and GU, which to trade? Look at EG and pick the weaker. I don't know if this has anything to do with Basber's secret strategy, but since EU is Sonic's #1 pair to trade SonicR, and GU cannot be far behind, then EG could play an important role in SonicR trading of these two pairs. And maybe some day Basber will share his secret strategy.

So, what about actually trading EG? I have a few times already (KevinChan is DEFINATELY to blame for that!) with mixed emotions....no losses, but a very trying experience. Maybe I just need to get the hang of it. I'll see how this trade goes. But it might best be used in the role of "arbitrator" in deciding whether to trade EU or GU.

Since Basber is out, I'll try to answer your question, TraderViet.

In post #14 Sonic says enter at least a few pips beyond the end of the first candle punching out from the dragon. Therefore, based on Sonic's instructions, the candle you note is the correct candle.

However, different traders, for whatever reason, seem to eventually "play" with that instruction.

For example, just recently ddaytrader posted a caution about not entering too far out from the outer Dragon line. He has traditionally used his own rule to not enter if the "instructions" result in an entry more than 20 pips out from the Dragon.

Basber presents another viewpoint. He takes the opposite, and very conservative approach, of preferring to see an EP that is beyond recent PA extremes. In other words, he prefers to enter when PA has cleared previous highs or lows. So, in his chart he is suggesting to await entry until PA later passes that next candle. Why? Because then PA will have passed most of the previous lows even further back. Basber is the kind of trader that awaits the very best setups, preferably following a stretch of long ranging. His trade entries tend to be conservative and his trades tend to be for longer stretches of time, yielding greater profits.

It is recommended you stick to Sonic's instructions. Learn to trade SonicR the way Sonic has shown us. With experience, and as you improve as a trader, a sense will develop within you regarding any alterations based on your own personality. But, I am sure Sonicdeejay would ask that since SonicR is such a successful trading method, and so elegantly simple and uncluttered, why would you change it?

Today is a day of a rare occurrance for the GU pair. No less than 4 high impact releases are scheduled within the next 9.5 hours. The first two are GBP releases and the next two are USD releases. And just before the second GBP high impact release, there is a EUR high impact release!

Today is a day for patience and adherence to the "rules". Be careful. Be very picky.

Here is what I see, and what I think it means.....

The move down yesterday (yellow rectangle) was very heavily traded. The 50% move back up was only lightly traded.

What I think it means is that trader's sentiment has been far more bearish, than bullish thru this time.

Now, having said that, there are 2 high impact USD releases coming up. They could be good for the dollar. And maybe the move down yesterday was just the final ride on the "short train" this week, because the PPMs suspect the dollar might get "good news". In other words, the reason for the bullish sentiment was that the PPMs wanted the price dropped so they could start loading up on longs at low prices.

At this point we have to follow Sonic's advice. Wait, and let the market decide. And then trade what we see, being patient and picky.

Dude...you had given up on this pair after making some pips on it, so why did you start all over again? I believe after Basber mentioned it. I am
sure he too must have seen some potential after I brought it here.

Infact someone was shorting EG and I commented it was on the wrong side. I went long and hit my target!

Trade what you feel is right, not everything that you see. This is where many many fail and blame others, blame the market, brokers and so on...!

It is you, against ONLY you, there are no PPMs, pumps, dumps, suckers...etc, its all your minds creation. Change the way you look at things, the things that you look at, will change!

There is no secret strategy with EG, its simple, while trading EU, GU and scaling in, one can take advantage by trading EG, its slow but it sure pays well - a 100 pip on EG is equivalent to about 150 pips on EU, GU or AU.

The point you should understand is that if shorting GU (and scaling in), you shouldn't short AU or EU at the same time that's because if it goes wrong, all go wrong! Most correlated pairs move in same direction at the same time.
I know for sure, you are experienced to know the difference between scaling in and adding to a losing trade.

There is no use to short EU, then short EJ, GJ, thats because if EU goes north, others follow and one would end up losing everywhere unless it is a UJ day.

I will bring another pair when time is right, THAT TOO only if everyone here is comfortable, I don't want to upset anybody. I don't have anything to gain personally. I am not an amateur trader, I know my way around.
