In theory the market is open through the weekend... but in reality its closed.. only people who buy sell on weekends are essentially commercials who actually need to convert the money and take delivery at market price to meet its need.....

Yes ... real market is closed during the week-ends ... but real banks ... they do have same access to the market than I have ... if they are a real bank ... they are not forced to go with a stinky 'online services' and Interbank Conditions do allow other procedures of order executions than 'online services' ...

The market is not open during week-ends ... you are right ... but even then there are nearly never GAPS with a real Interbank Dealing Desk SYSTEM ... I do not talk about a 'Metatrader Kindergarten Playtool' ...

In other words ... in case your so-called Banks ... are real Banks ... then they do not have GAPS ...

Interbank Market plugs out at Chigago closing time on Fridays ... and it opens up in (plugs in) at Wellington on Sunday afternoon ... not on Monday ...

Moreover ... Interbank Rules Conditions do not allow an upside limitation of amounts being traded ... on the other hand you cannot deal with LOTS under Interbank Conditio ...

Wie oft denn nun noch ... ? !

The ICAP's EBS system which some are referring to as 'real interbank', is seldom used over weekends by bankers to execute trades... because even if they do it over EBS they will have to wait till monday to see the actual converted money come to their bank account. Actual trade on weekend are done over phone calls between different FX department of other banks.. they all know each other... its a very casual and personal way of doing it.. one banker calls another and asks what the best price they can give and things like that..

Purple, you should take some time to read how Forex works.

Honda's prices (actually all export sales) are locked in at the exchange rate at time of contract with overseas dealers, not at sale or delivery.

This is one of the most basic functions of the Forex market for the industrial sector.

No one is closing an imaginary gap to fulfill car sale prices from over the weekend.

am i reading chart correctly, both the 2hr & 1hr charts show MACD and STO low and could be heading upwards???

yeah but things are brewing.. there was a big hs on the usdx. we finally had a close above that old neckline. now the challenge is the d200 ema. one thing at a time. we are at 80.21 atm.. its at 80.36 ... my target is 80.73 min... so we may have the 200ema day as a base. this would be the second cross north since eu 29xx..if we cross it. above 81.32 makes a big ihs neckline. that among other things. like the trend.
