Exactly ... funy funny ... I tell them since months ... that there is no gap ... and since months I try to beware them from such errors and report them open - high - low - close rates of the real markets in order to let them know how to judge and calculate so that they could avoid such errors of missjudgement at least ...

open price at Interbank mkts rules in Wellington has been 1.3228 ... just the same rate as Friday closing at Interbank mkts rules in Chicago ... that has been 'rollover value date' forewarded ...

highest has been 1.32360 (bid = given) ... and lowest has been 1.31827 (ask = taken) until now ... that is 07h17 CET ...

So all real market participations did not have had any GAPS in their trading systems ... only those who are trading with unsufficiant 'online services' do have them ...

If there are some members who do not like GAPS and unsufficiant quotes ... then those who do not like to have GAPS anymore ... then they must close their accounts ... and go with a real service that allow them to go with the real existing markets ...

Unfortunately I cannot show you with my charts ... because if I would do so ... then you would see my name and many things more that is not your business ...

The real markets do exist much much much longer as all of those 'online services' ever did exist ... go with the good old names ... the well known names since aeons ... then you are out of such troubles ...

price might just rally up to 3224 ... however a strong hurdle in the way ... 3207-3209 zone. the way SMA 100 is flat on 15M ... it could bounce either way but upside seems biased.

Well when the brokers close on Friday at 5.30EST or something.. at that time the Forex market also closes.

In theory the market is open through the weekend... but in reality its closed.. only people who buy sell on weekends are essentially commercials who actually need to convert the money and take delivery at market price to meet its need.. no speculative, or investment oriented trading is done during weekend..

So when on Monday the maket opens, traders do see these gaps.. and they are essentially a gap because some fundamentals change slightly during weekend.. and other news events.. and by traders I mean banks and financial institutions.. these banks need to fill this gap because they are fundamentally wrong.. its something they have in agreement with their commercial clients... like Honda sold 10 cars over weekend in USA, now they want to convert this money and bring it back to Japan in Yen.. so Honda's bank cannot say to Honda that their was a gap and the price never came on screen.. bank is compelled to convert the money at the price Honda agreed on.. so even if their is a gap they have to respect that agreement.. so the bank tries to fill the gap and get that price on screen..

Its just a small simple scenario, to explain why gap must be filled.. sometimes it takes days for a gap to fill.. but it eventually does.
