If you are talking about 'news' events, don't trade before unless you have a plan & study the 5m chart after the event as in my experience, it is often an indication for the upcoming direction,

pros already know what this news is . The have probably known for days.

90 % of the time , if you know what to look for in the charts , you can see the outcome of news before news happens and be in the trade before news with confidence that the trades hits your take profit.

I use vsa , I know most do not believe in the validity of volume on fx .... but it works.

I stated before, the problem I have with volume, is that with spot-forex, you can't track it. At most you can tell if it goes up & down.

As far as pro's knowing. Well no 'insider trading' can be enforced in forex.

You better believe that ranking members who release the information are making a lot of money on the side. Can't lie, I would.

i have a little strategy as to how that works and reacts during major news events. but does your vsa work. you care to share or give an insight.

volume in fx is tick vol BUT if you have a low spread down bar at prior resistance with 5 times more ticks in it than the prior bar you can bet it is buying volume

I put a posting in vsa thread on Tuesday about adp being better than expecting Wednesday... was pretty easy when 150,000 contracts of es came thru in last 2 min of day at 1177...

Pros / banks / hedge funds know news before it happens

Ireland issues and drop not a surprise . i was rattling on about distribution for 4 weeks before the 1300 pip drop. I even gave target 1.33 for nov 11th. I missed date as symmetry broke a little.

I am a day trader , more of a 50 pip a day kind of trader, and do not have stomach for holding so did not take advantage of the down move but using futures volume on daily the distribution was clear way before the recent drop in euro . In reality everything we need to know is in the charts .. I try my best to ignore news

okay I respect that, i just like going off of the fact that you just can't track volume - true volume - but i will give this a shot in a practice account for a couple weeks.

It seems to be more of a 'you use it or you don't' item that is situational and unique in the fact that you have to 'perfect' what you are looking for instead of just dropping it on the chart.

I will read up on it & do it and post later. If it works, thanks for headsup

If you work well with volumes & even better, fully understand or are willing to. why don't you trade futures? rather it be commodities or forex .. just a thought.

Good morning everybody,

I have just updated my Eliot Wave count on my blog. We are in complex wxy correction. Can go as high as 3302 until invalidation.

If it goes higher then we are likely in a large 1-2, 1-2 count.

Fib targets for the recent upmove are 3306, 3373 and 3486

MM targets are 3245, 3275 and 3306
