DislikedI just said he reminded me of acumen, that's all - so I guess he was?
Is?Ignored
DislikedThat is exactly the whole point, breakouts of ranges/support zones after a failed test to the opposite side are exactly the kind of setups you are looking for. The fact that the IMF bailout rumour helped in exacerbating the resultant move is just a bonus, who cares. Did I expect a 50+ pip bar on the M5, of course not, am I complaining? Why would I, you always get the largest moves when the technicals and fundamentals are pulling in the same direction.Ignored
DislikedOk, thanks. I have read your posts and you certainly seem very knowledgable.
So, forgive me if I'm asking a stupid question but here goes.
The EUR was up early today and then pulled back (in line with my expectations, at least, given the month-long downtrend). Your chart showed the break of the intraday uptrend at around 3pm GMT.
So, my question is, why is this break of the short-term uptrend to resume the downtrend a "fakeout" ?
ThanksIgnored
DislikedSorry, I mistyped, I meant they announced they would not be, and then I said we are still essentially bailing out Europe because we are the main contributor to the IMF.
I don't think we are contributing to the IMF because we want to change the way the international monetary programs work.
it was in the WSJ that they said a source claimed that there would be no contributions.
But if we don't get China to 'go with the flow', I can see the U.S. contributing in the next few years again in the big term as these European loans are just pushing off...Ignored

DislikedThe fakeouts are the tests of the support zones, not the trend itselfIgnored

Dislikedok, last question, I promise.
I asuume then that the fakeout was the supposed breach of support around 16.00 GMT I guess).
In which case, what was this support line based on?
Thanks again. And now I'm doneIgnored
