If it follows standard MO (happens often enough to give an edge), it will consolidate near the low through the rest of NY, before asia take out the low marginally for stop triggering, then will range the rest of the night or begin correction... My take on it, but as always I will go with the flow and trade the price action, but I am a very short-term scalper...

These days, the news is filled with talk of the new economy. The trouble is that I don’t know what they’re talking about. I often wonder what people mean by “the new economy.”

Since no one has defined the new economy to my satisfaction, I thought I would share a few of my own definitions.

Money
As a supporter of Conspiracy of the Rich, you already know that money stopped being money in 1971, when Nixon took the dollar off the gold standard. Today, money is debt. Money is no longer money in the new economy.

With money being debt, savers are losers. Old-economy people are still trying to save money as interest rates are near zero and the Fed is printing trillions of dollars. In the new economy, debtors are winners and savers are losers.

Age
In the old economy, age was an asset. In the new economy, age is a liability.

In the old economy, age meant experience and wisdom. In the new economy, age means old and obsolete.

Today, when older workers are laid off, it’s difficult for them to find jobs if they aren’t up to date on the latest technology.

Education
In the old economy, education was very important. Education gave you an edge over someone who didn’t have an education. In the new economy, with technology changing so fast, students are obsolete before they leave school.

In the old economy, not everyone could afford to go to college. In the new economy, college loans for higher education changed everything

In the new economy, higher education is common, not unique. Just because you have a college degree doesn’t ensure a secure, high paying job.

For example, in a recent poll, 85 percent of college seniors expected to move back in with their mom and dad because their job prospects were so bad. To make matters worse, with lower wages, the cost of school loans is more of a burden than ever. In the new economy, the cost of a college education may be more than the return on the investment.

High-Paying Jobs
In the old economy, high paying jobs were plentiful. Even for students without a college education there were high paying jobs in factories.

In the new economy, factories have moved over seas. Today, the world has too many factories. If workers want higher wages, the factories simply relocate to lower-wage countries.

The Information Age and the new economy eliminate jobs. Just as the automobile made horses obsolete, technology makes many professions obsolete.

The Wall Street Journal recently published an article about how librarians are becoming redundant. The article states that new library branches have no librarians and no card catalogues. Replacing librarians are stacks of metal lockers where patrons order books and DVD’s online and pick them up at the locker.

In the new economy, having a high-paying job may make you a target for technology that can do your job for much less. In the new economy, technology rewards entrepreneurs who use that technology to produce more for less. In the new economy, technology makes many employees redundant, expensive, and less valuable.

Taxes
In the old economy, most people just paid their taxes.

In the new economy, if the government raises taxes, people can move via cyberspace and work in countries or states with lower taxes.

Retirement
In the old economy, the company you worked for took care of your retirement, guaranteeing you a paycheck for life.

In the new economy, the worker is responsible for their paycheck for life. And if the stock market and real estate market continues to crash, millions of retired workers may have to go back to work.

Two Economies in One
In any country, there are two economies. One economy is made up of workers operating by the rules of the old economy. These are the people hurting in the new economy. The other economy is made up with people operating by the rules of the new economy. These people are thriving in the new economy.

The interesting thing is that people operating by the rules of the old economy often live next door to those operating by the rules of the new economy. The question is: which economy are you operating in?

No, there will definitely not be a war in Korea. There will be a war with Iran, but you need to wait for a couple of monhs/year or two. Korean incident is there just to distract you from economic problems in US.

No, Iran owes to much money to Russia. and Russia's economy is in HORRIBLE condition so they won't supply Iran with weapons or any of the Mid-East for that matter.

We are in a 'global' economy, and unless that crashes, I don't think there will be any type of world war.

3 economic revolutions in my opinion -

-1. Agricultural revolution
-2. Industrial revolution
-3. {right now} Global economic revolution

Actually with PPP {Purchasing Power Partiy}, we are just evening out a little bit also. Maybe EURO has just been over-valued??? just a theory {not saying I believe in it, just a maybe}.

I mean look at the military stationed overseas, they get 'cola' to make up for the price difference of goods around that country.

I agree. People may complain about globalization, but thats the only reason why WW3 still didn't happen. And WW3 with the weapons we have now, could mean the end of the world as we know it and even the ones who would survive wouldn't live a happy life.
