And yes I do agree that if you study economics and/or finance during the start of a financial problems (i.e. banks) textbook mandates to take care of the liquidity problem 1st. Moreover, as you pointed out, looking at solvency may cause more liquidity problems.
However, given the current circumstances and I am including all the baggage still on the table from the financial crisis that may be far from true....Ignored
