before they bailed out Ireland. Germany had a failed bond sale. this was last week. soon the debt will not be guaranteed (except Greece older sales)..for the bond buyers. (Germany insisted) so rates will go up. ... so debt goes up!!! future bond buyers can loose.. its over.. the fat lady choked on a chicken bone.

Don´t forget That oil above 70USD brings new players on he supply side, like SASOL.


Liquid fuel from coal

Every day 120 000 metric tons of coal are transported to a plant at Secunda, near Johannesburg, where they are converted into 150 000 barrels of oil a day.

The plant belongs to one of South Africa's success stories, Sasol, the parastatal company that invented and perfected the technology for making petrol and diesel from coal.

Sasol's main plant in the province of Mpumalanga - the only commercial coal-to-liquid plant in the world - produces about 150 000 barrels of synthetic fuel a day and meets about 28% of South Africa's annual fuel needs.

Coal-to-liquid (CTL) technology makes economic sense only in a world of high oil prices: synthetic fuels become economically viable when oil prices reach $50 a barrel. As a result, Sasol has come of age. Until 2003, oil prices averaged $25 a barrel, making $45-a-barrel liquid coal economically prohibitive, but today oil prices hover at $70-a barrel, so the demand for CTL technology is booming.

It's the day after black friday. Generally a good day for the market in the U.S. End of the day rallies will happen a lot on the ES through christmas. I see min 80.8 on /DX if not 80.5 - 80.6 area. Doesn't mean the euro will rally, though. Still looking for a short at 1.318, otherwise will take one during London.

Portugal will give 3.2b to help other EU countries in trouble, but weren´t we suposed to be broke???

yet the bond buyers keep buying. PIIGs bond spreads are higher but the auctions have been oversubscribed. And now the sales are winding down for the year. The vigilantes need a steady stream of bad news to keep the contagion fear fresh, to keep the yields moving up. This is what I meant when I asked if they might run out of ammo.

The fundamentals of Spain, Portugal et al are no different now at E/U 1.31 than they were a month ago at E/U 1.42. The 1,000+ pips was what the Ireland hand brought in. How many of these straight flushes are gonna be dealt in a row?

i saw a lot of analysts arguing that the monthly chart is looking somewhat like a bullish wedge, and not like a descending channel.

btw: my daily candle will close in 2,5 hrs. if we bounce - why so ever - further up, this one could result in a nice hammer, but i doubt it. we'll see.

well if its technical then we have just begun. the technicals were there before any news. the news just speed up the process.
