interesting thing is that most here do not even realize a true gap when they see it .. that 100 pip move on news in 5 seconds or less is not orders being filled at every price level , but a rapid moving of bid /ask ... then they say ' brokers did not honor my stop..they are bucket shops ' .. lol when in fact price gapped right thru it. The reason brokers like fxcm etc have a bad rap has nothing to do with their services , but the fact that most retail fx traders do not understand market liquidity and lack of it at times.

I thought it was as little as 4%, can't remember where I saw that figure and it may be out of date now since retail has increased massively in recent years...

If I had to guess, there doesn't have to be a live market for there to be a value.

Your CD at your bank is gaining interest, but can you walk into your bank right now and withdraw from your CD or open a CD ... nope.

You don't 'own' the currency you are trading, you are betting on the value of it. The currencies value can fluctuate, but the ability to bet on it ... well there isn't a bank that is doing that as banks go by their countries markets ... 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.

You can trade 24/7 with OANDA.

BUT youīl have a 10 pip spread during weekend

Please read and try to understand what I posted

we retailers , with our brokers that are mostly closed weekends form maybe 10% of the fx market ..

Banks , governments and hedge funds can trade any time they want ... they do not run on mt4 and nor do they sit looking at ff calender waiting for the news to come out..lol...the euro has move +120 , - 90 and +40 and yet your platform is closed .. so who is trading Mickey Mouse ? Donald Duck ? or professional money ?

The reason they do not trade / move market on weekend is cause liquidity id not there and global financial ( meaning stock markets) are not open

anyway just step back and htink about gap or no gap.

Now this does not mean price doe not move to 1.3350 even 1,3400 and then meets sellers..

My primary b0rker is Oanda. You can trade 24/7 with them. I wouldn't advise it, but you can.

Gaps that are discussed here don't exist, never have and never will --- it's only with your b0rker being closed to early or opening to late. A true gap is ONLY when pricing is moving fast. It happens, not that often, but it does happen. I've mentioned this before and still got flamed for it by the newbs or those less informed. Wake up guys & gals (you know who I'm talking about / gap truthers ... lol. ).

I Read what u say but u understand what i mean i build my view depends on no broker or bank or central bank at one country can trade 24/7 but at certain time people close sleep so there is somewhere disconnect from other but if there is as u say working 24/7 then no gap

Truth: There are gaps in price everyminute, for the pairs prices consist on discrete data, not continuos.

I think the EURO will head higher. It is a much developed country and the currency will remain overvalued longer.

I see 1.35 and 1.40 by christmas.
