Yeah, it's a tough time of day to trade. I'm considering just trading the London/US overlap because I use small stoplosses. I will widen them though, if they become detrimental to trading your method. So far so good though.

done for today , eurchf and gbusd made me 50 pips...and now i am watching AUS/USD , for tap on h4 trend line....problem is , i am not using MT4 for live trading, i am using fxcm platform...does any body have some EA based on trend lines which works on FXCM standard platform, , and has any one traded gold for live?

My entry's on a 3 tap trade(I hope) are the same as page 1 of this thread but if you are looking at the gif's that I posted earlier, the trend lines were drawn now 9.5 hours ago.....I add a SL of 100 on an H4 chart and a TP of 50 when I leave the screen....My trades are being managed by MPTM during the trade.....And if I'd been alittle sharper this may have been the answer to LG's question and if it was I apologize for my rather random reply....

Good trading! Gold can be traded the same way we trade any other pair only it is not in pips.

I am using the FXCM platform too. I think you can use the EA with the strategy platform from fxcm. you don't need a new login , you can use the one from the trading station. http://www.fxcm.com/automated-forex-trading.jsp

but I didn't try it I am trading without EA

I am noticing that 8 or 9 pairs are confirming direction on weekly, daily and H4 charts right now. Too many to post.

I understand the difference in ditch channel trades and BO trades in terms of the outcome u are aiming for.
My question was more to do with both setups being the result of consolidation, and how u decide whether u will trade the channel range - or wait and look for a break out? Hope that's clearer.

No problem...I think you are getting hung up on terminology. Whether we call it a BO or channel trade, I was looking for PA to go in the same direction..down. I chose to put a TP at the lower/support line, but I could have put it below that line and made more pips..as it turns out. But I didn't know that at the time and 45 pips, which was the support line was good enough for me.

PA could just as easily have used that support line as just that and bounced right off of it and headed up again. There is no way of knowing beforehand. But, it didn't, and PA continued down through the support level. I missed some pips, but I don't care..I had a 45 pip trade and am very happy with it.

Please, please do not try to squeeze the last pip out of every trade. It will make you miserable. Remember Bernard Baruch.

+170 pips so far this week.. one still going strong.. I think I'll take a break tonight, although there are a lot of great setups!! 2 setups didn't pan out, but I took LG's idea of reversing a trade with a double lot.. Broke even on those - nothing lost. I would not recommend that as a general principle, very risky. Sounds kinda Martingale-ish too.. Happy pips everyone,
