DislikedSome of us have gaps on our charts during the weekends. A lot of us like to implement that a strat for scalping, by initiating trades towards a closure of the gap. Cloggie refuses to accept that. It's either his way or noway, which is fine, but everyone is entitled to his or her opinions. Since Cloggie doesn't have a gap on his screen he decided that no one else should worry about that. In short, we have this massive spike out of nowhere, contrare to what Cloggie was speakin on, and gap was closed. Plain and simple. I'm done on that subject now!...Ignored
DislikedLook just open a futures charts. There is not mumbojumbo there. A future contract traded in a centralized market (CME) that is clear, transparent and accountable. There is no my broker show this or that. There is only one valid set of data. If you have a doubt in a gap my recommendation is check futures .... Just my 2 cents.

could his be a chance to scalp long for short while ?Ignored
DislikedYou are right man about that gap thing. There is virtually no gap in forex market or price action ... but as they say, "trade what you see" when retail traders see a gap ... they try to trade it.
Scalping is also considered "a no form of trading" ... even some go that far by refuting "Intraday" ... but people do these things. There is no such thing as auto-trailing stop but the option is there in MT4.
Academically you are right ... but Chonchy can't be considered wrong under given circumstances above.

DislikedIf you watch the trading going on over the weekend, which I sometimes do on FxStreet, there is no gap. There is seamless trading.
However, the retail platforms are not privy to this trading and therefore there is a seeming "gap" which is no more than an artifact caused by the inability to see the weekend trading.
I have for years noticed that this artifact does indeed get covered, usually within 1 or 2 days and is one of the lower risk trades. As to why this "gap" which is no more than an artifact, and therefore not real, usually gets closed...Ignored
DislikedI do understand where you are coming from. In fact let me make myself clear. I do know that the market continues. i trade with FXCM, and there charts show NO GAP! However, I do my charting with mt4 which does show a gap. It's all good though.Ignored
