Reading your posts I got idea that Noda might need astrology in order to make intervention decision...that was all.

Job of retail trader is to find the way (astrology, fib, MA, VSA, EW...thousands of other indicators....information, other markets, fundamental knowledge, discipline, patience...whatever...) to follow the market.

Hi,

I'm looking for the thread that deals with discussion about UJ. I'm having trouble finding it.

Can anybody tell me where it went?

(okay that's sarcasm, just letting everyone know that couldn't figure that out)

Also,

Please realize,
there is a big difference between Astronomy and Astrology. I felt the need to say that in case there
is any blossoming astronomers out there that also have an interest in FX. We must not discourage the
bright young scientists.

Let's let this go, and move on.

Please, let's return to discussion/opinion/technical analysis of UJ.

ok you guys,

i was trying not to offend anyone, but to simply set this thread back on track. So here is my offer of good will. I use technical analysis. I'm waiting for trait number 6 to complete, then we can expect a fairly nice reversal. The system I use is proprietary and i respect the system's creator very much, so I can not give much more info.

Happy Trading all, and Good Luck this upcoming week (although we don't need luck)

I found the above article quite interesting, but at the moment I'm still bearish, and it will be difficult to know what to do until Thursdays Fed meeting. I would love to see the start of a reversal, but it's certainly not going to happen tomorrow IMO

Yes, I read the article many times in the last days...
I find it good that you are bearish... always go with the trend, we need confirmation of an uptrend first.... I would hedge, and use the bearish profits to put them on the bullish account... but wait with the bullish positions until we have some drastic happenings!

Hello to who uses this thread . just my viwes about it now , how it will not know if usdx continue breaking mode !

anyway it is almost to extreme low & even though bear contiuation possible yet expecting very good bounce from around the low extreme .
good luck .perhaps it is 2nd strogest to weakest currency pair so far.
Another pair of interest at the same time to work with for the bounce is strongest to weakest usdchf ,greatly bear continued already & bounced some recently but the farthest low still be expected before they together bounce & wish usdx also bounce from tl next 76.13 if not able before it .
Though we are not trading from monthly tf still they moved to such extremes that lower than it not see what is what .

The more I read articles about impending bull in UJ, the stronger I'm temped going short. This is because I can't shake off my mind Noda once saying that an intervention is most effective when a few people expect it to happen. In other words, JP might not intervene as long as majority people expecting it.

I also think JP is not likely to intervene because even 78.00 may still not be low enough for JP to intervene -- JP needs a real good reason for intervention so that they can defend themselves against EU, G20, and the US who are against currency manipulations.

So do I want to go short? Nah, I wouldn't. I'm still so scared of JP's sudden intervention. Rather I would go long little by little at 80, 79, 78, and so on... The key to success is money management, I believe.

PS JP gov report OCT shows that JP did not spend any money to currency manipulation in October. I thought they were "smoothing," but I was wrong. So this fact also points that JP is not going to intervene that easily...

Yes, this downward channel we have here for some months now is just beautifully consistent.... In a way it is a traders dream come true... lets exploit it some more. :-)

Hi,

I see the discussion formed in the past few days showing an indication of ranged trading for the next week. We are at records low in this pair and it is psychologically very hard for me to expect the pair to go lower than where it is standing now. We are at a double bottom and close to the historical low on the technical side. On the fundamental side, a strong yen will inevitably hurt Japanese firms in such a way that if yen stays this strong v.s. the USD and other currencies many factories would close or shift plants elsewhere, which would cause worse economic data leading to sell pressure on the yen in the future. The BOJ certainly knows about this and will react if speculation outweighs the true price for its currency and hurt inflation targets. I think the question about their intervention is that for how long can their export industries survive the value of the yen if the market does not correct itself.

What do you think folks?
