Hi all. Nice to wake up and see how are yesterday's shorts running. Entered @1.3940 & 1.3916 and just had the opportunity to add one @ 1.3852 right now. Cool.

EUR/USD has traded down to 1.3836 taking out the stops below 1.3850 in the process. There is no panic with some buying interest reported from reserve managers but nothing large. All up typical end of the month thin markets. EUR/USD is now down over a big figure from its intraday high with the next target 1.3800.

And GBP news gave a superb opportunity to load a short on GU as well. Wow, what a day. Just needing to choose the right exit spots now !

FOMC next week, US mid-term elections, too.

Everyone been waiting on the FOMC to come out and hatch QE2, really since Jackson Hole, when Bernanke sprung that idea and the dollar began to drop like a rock. For the last month the various Fed Heads have been doing their best to confuse things by talking up a piecemeal approach to Fed balance sheet expansion, arguing for inflationary accomodation, etc, blahdeblah. IMHO, all just straight up verbal intervention to slow the dollar slide, and next week the voting members will show their true colors and QE2 will be as big or bigger than the most dovish expectations, and the USD will sell off like a mofo.

If I was a position trader I would be looking for dips to buy.

It seems, that my prediction of yesterday comes true. Yesterday evening I had doubt, because the upward movement had a quiet impulsive feeling and went a little bit further than the expected 3916. But when movement topped last night, one could count on 4h chart in the yellow wave "a" 3 waves up and in yellow "c" wave 7 waves up. That is corrective.

So I stick again with my Leading Diagonal count, which should bring us in the area of 1.3611 to 1.3550 (MMTL -1/8 and -2/8 on 1h with p=256)

For the next hours I am awaiting a retest of 3855, because this area seems to be important.

I think unemployment #s in Europe will be better than expected (spain already "improve" if you can said that # is an improvement), inflation is probably going to be lower, new agreement at EU level yesterday to prevent collapses like the one in May. Things are showing small fundamental shifts in the Eurozone. However, I do agree, short term all is in the US side. As long as the QE and Elections are clear, the ball is on the other side of the Atlantic and macroeconomic fundamentals will be less important.

We'll see.

The ECB is more hawkish than most other CB's for the majors and that will come into play sooner than later and especially if US QE goes full on from next week, and I think it will. The dominant & voting Fed Heads are bought in to QE big time and there has not been enough change in US unemployment to bring them off it.

that was one difficult bottom picking task
ended up with one long @ 3818 closing half + 18
and closing earlier long no harm done.

whats wrong with the Portuguese, Spanish and Greek 5 yr CDSs.
