Sonicdeejay's wisdom about the few "rules" cannot be disputed. One rule regards the "approved trading hours". Here is a story.....

Yesterday I got up on my soap box, expounded on how GU was ripe for a hard drive down, pointed out a piss-ant asian move that supported the claim, and went to bed. GU went Up.

PA moves up and down, and making too much of any such move can be injurious to your trading. Sure, the PPMs move the price up and down to gain advantage for what they are planning. But they can be planning a move down, yet keep moving the PA higher and higher....over days! So, immediately trading your opinion (instead of waiting for approved hours and seeing what PA is actually doing) can leave you on the right side of a FUTURE move, but missing out on all the intervening moves until then....and having your account decrease all the while!

Will GU go down? Sure it will. But the PPMs choose to pump it up another 100+ pips past the previous highs. And when did they start to do it? They did it starting at the onset of SonicR approved hours trading. Now, had I not been so arrogantly sure it was going down, and stayed up for the euro session, I could have reversed my trade and gained.

Sure GU will go down. And sure, the PPMs were selling off during multiple swings. But those swings were along the path of an upwards drive to obtain the ultimate high ground for the day, and for optimum acquisition of new short positions.....and it was a GRAND SonicR long trade that set up going into approved hours!

The bottom line? Well, I guess Sonicdeejay is not only dead right about not trading outside of approved hours, but "opinions" shouldn't be formed outside those hours either!

Let the market decide, and trade what you see (during approved hours!).

Welcome, Joe. First off, I hope you meant "slick", not "sick".

Do I trade for a living? No, it is not my only source of income...I'm on Social Security!

The rules have not changed, nor will they ever. And they are few: stick to approved hours, look for the HLs Wave pattern, ID the EP area, use PA history to ID exit targets, and use good MM. (Have I forgotten anything?).

The only essential indicators needed are: price candlesticks, the SonicR Dragon and the SonicR Trend Line. And this too, will never change.

The M15 chart is the recommended trading chart for the SonicR method. Higher TF charts, primarily H4, should be consulted for the presence or absence of any obvious PA that would be a harbinger of a SonicR trade on the M15.

Does it work on the Daily Chart as the primary trading chart? It could, I guess. But then it would be a derivative of the SonicR method, not the SonicR method itself. Likewise, some trade using the M5 as their primary trading chart. But that too, is not the recommended way of applying the SonicR method.

With one exception, the indys are ready. The release package will contain:

1. SonicR Chart Panel - puts market data in upper left of chart, but is also a multifunction indy because it makes the RgH/RgL lines, the vertical time lines, and a bid line that changes color with the bid price label. It has a "Brief" and a "Full" configuration.

2. SonicR Clock Panel - essentially provided as a means of setting up & checking the vertical time lines position. But it can be left on display if desired. It also has a "Brief" and a "Full" configuration.

3. SonicR EMA Dragon - a simple 34 ema trade band using price H/M/L ema moving average lines. You can "mirror" the M30 and H1 TF charts to the M15 chart.

4. SonicR EMA Trend Line - a simple 89 ema line, but uses a 2nd such line of wider width to provide line highlighting. You can "mirror" the M30 and H1 TF charts to the M15 chart.

5. SonicR FFCal Headlines - displays four event time labels. If multiple events occur at same time, only a highest impact event displays for that time slot. This assures adequate notice of following events.

6. SonicR Levels - places whole, half, quarter and eighth lines on chart as a background. It can be set to eliminate catagories of lines automatically as you switch to higher TFs.

7. SonicR TzPivots - an upgrade from TzPivotsD_v3.5, streamlined for SonicR, and likely the best pivots indicator there is.

As you can see, the only "technical" indicators are the Dragon (used in IDing EP), the Trend Line (simple indication of local trend), and the pivots indy (to help set targets, if desired). And none of these are used to "predict" PA. The rest are just "visual aids". All the indys include default colors for both white and black charts. Templates will be included.

Since Sonicdeejay is not around, as of late, I will probably just post the indy/templates files, hopefully sometime in November. He has a project engineering job (I think that is correct) and if he is not posting here, it might be he is very busy. So, I won't bother him with this trivia.

1. EST (Eastern Standard Time) is GMT-4 during DST (Daylight Savings Time), which is now. During the non-DST time of the year (coming up soon), EST is GMT-5.
2. The SonicR Trend Line is, as I stated in two posts above, an 89 ema line. It has nothing to do with the Shi-Channel indys.

Thanks for replying back to me! THe one problem about this system is they've already had 3 different indicator files to download. What happens when you guys quit? THe indicators someday are going to quit working and you don't know where to find them.

I've always been kind of lury about indicator based systems, but this one is almost pure TA with the indicators just as a guide. I like that!

SO I'm not really sure which indicator files I'm suposed to download? Could I download any of them or is the rv3 the last one the newest one and that's the one to use? I noticed they all have different indicators. The last onie doesn't have SHI which I thought was one of the main indicators?

She decided to go south today... Went short later and earned 25pips. It wasn't really a sonicr trade btw

It could be ... But it was not a good one IMO, because it formed in the middle of a range market. I didn't took it though ...

New version will be released soon. But the core concepts remains the same.

Joe, I recommend you read ddaytraders posts on this thread. He trades with just the Dragon and pivots in the background; no Trend Line, no QQE, no CCI, no shi-channel, no Spud Fibo, no volume, no NVO, no range lines, no vertical time lines......NADA! Just the Dragon and a good watch on PA is all he requires. And his trades are successful. Don't bury yourself in the Trivia of all those indicators. As you read thru the thread you will discover that "Keep it simple." is why SonicR is a good method.

And no matter where you are, where you go, who your broker is or might be in the future, ALL PLATFORMS will accomodate the band of three 34 ema lines based on the H/C/L (or H/M/L if you desire), which is the Dragon. So, you don't need to worry if the rest of us are around, or not!

Well, I said it would come down, and it is. But this trade has become a joke. I'll make money on it, sure enough. But I'll have to wait for the PPMs to start a serious drive down.

Meanwhile, I suspect they will carry PA back towards the whole number recently breached, and maybe even above it for a while again. No matter.

I have drawn a large scale WAVE that I can forsee PA possibly making. If PA does, then the move down could be substantial. All speculation, of course.

Let the market decide, and trade what you see (mind the approved hours, traders!).

Using M30 mirroring M15 to show this has been ranging. Meanwhile, the Trend Line is continuing to be sloped down. I have drawn a WAVE that PA could possibly make. If it does, then we may have a short trade setup, but starting before approved hours.

If this happens, make up your own mind if you should consider entering. On the otherhand, PA could swing higher for a while, and later make a move down. If this happens, then maybe we have a SonicR short trade setup starting around approved hours. Better.

This has been in decline. OK. But once in a while, it will do a pullback (up), which is what I think is happening now. I don't look for much on this. It might go to the half number, maybe to the whole number...no tellling. TP is therefore tentative. This is before approved hours. My entry is a bit above the whole number.....and my fingers are crossed.

Edit: Added 2nd chart. I turned on the pivots (set To GMT time zone) and am comfortable with my TP. But I will be watching PA closely. PA seems to be in consolidation around the whole number, hopefully for a move up. But it could take a dive, too. There are medium impact releases after the London open, and a high impact release after the US open. This leaves plenty of time for a run up before the US release, if it is to go up. If it does, then I would not be surprised to see the US release trigger a move back down. Pure speculation, so be warned.

I closed the trade with 35 pips profit. The EUR release is past now, and a major impact USD release is coming in several hours. PA might still be worked higher before the USD release, but that's ok. I wasn't looking for a lot, and 35 pips is good.

I like UK session the most, but there are many good trades in US session. Best trading hours, IMO, is first 2 hours of UK & US session ...
