This is a newbie question but saw it the earlier posts the term NFP I couldnt find this in any of the glossarys etc... Since I am trading mostly this pair could you tell me what it stands for. Thanks

Hi Shootist. NFP = Non-Farm Payroll. It is a US employment report that is released at 8:30am EST on the first Friday of each month. It is a powerful report that usually results in a flurry of volatility across the USD denominated currencies. Watch for it on the Economic Calendar here at FF.

am still short from 1.2129 on DEMO according my reversal strategy signal. I did not go short on live because of NFP announcement on that morning.

as you can see - eur usd will go down. The psychological resistance is at 1.2000 or 1.2010. As you can see there is a head and the shoulders. It can bounce few weeks and it will drop. A good idea is to use entry point below 1.2000. In my opinion it should be 1.9500.

IMHO you could also interpret it as an upward reversal pattern, depending on the timeframe...

... in technical analysis more important timeframe is higher timeframe like 1 week timeframe is more important than 1 day timeframe or 1 day timeframe is more important than 4H timeframe.
The example of that thinking is a Vegas method. In my opinion it is only basic technical analysis that you should not make opposite decisions against the trend.

Since yesterday's high the Euro has dropped back to 1.1906 as of 8 a.m. USA Central Time.

Not a broker but a currency converter ..... defaulted to eur/usd..... here is the link.

I know there are brokers who at least post the market 24/7 but not who they are. I am sure some answers will come along soon on this thread.

Last week I kept track of the after hours moves and interestingly enough there was about a 40 pip action -- round trip. When the price is quite different between Friday's close and Sunday's open, it could be informative to see how your broker handles the difference.

I am short right now eur at 1.1935 and market is at on my chart 1.1932

I check the web site and it is at 1.1906 as you said

At mean i am in profit 29 pips

Now at 10:40 cst it is 1.1939 pretty whippy.

I wonder where they get their numbers over the weekend. I'll have to check it before the market opens. It might be useful to chart these numbers, though the low volume would cause that whippiness.

EURUSD looks to me like it's going to go up for an hour or three and then tank. All the USD charts look the same. This is based on stochastics, MACD and DMI. Well, it might start going down right away because the 1-minute to 30-minute charts all look similar to the hour chart. What do you all think?

Im short myself @ 1.1938 .........

I think the current high of 1.1940-50 area is a major resistance area and since there doesnt seem to be any economic data coming out on moday (so trading on technicals only) Im pretty confident we going to see 1.1900 levels up in play again.....

If you look at the 2-hour charts and above you'll see a very strong upward trend just beginning, but that might soon be partially reversed by the stuff that's happening now. I think this reversal should take a few hours.

If I really need to go in favor of USD right now instead of a few hours away, I think I'd go against a weaker currency than Euro. However, I don't see a currency that's backing off just yet, including JPY, NZD, AUD, CHF and CAD.

I don't currently have any positions for or against USD but I'll soon be putting all my money on it if my projections don't change.

If you need to check prices or even trade over the weekend then I suggest checking out Oanda.
Spreads tend to widen during weekends but everything's funtional.
Here's a rate table live 24-7.

I never took notice at this stuff on weekends.
Could any one explain what is happening durning this low volume period.

Please, evaluate this tech analysis. Your comments are welcomed.

The assumed attainment of the targets for opened long positions was confirmed, but without the expected correction of the rate, which introduced a strong factor of the pair’s overbuy. Hence, further retaining of buy positions looks rather attractive, but the level of the counterparty’s activity also doesn’t give grounds to assume a snap of the situation from bullish to bearish one, but rather assumes a period of the pair’s movement in the side range. Presently, according to the bearish character of the indicator chart as earlier, we assume a probability of the rate’s correction to the key channel lines and the fibo-61.8% to the range 1,2210/30, where it is recommended to evaluate the activity development according to the charts of a shorter time interval. For short-term buys, on condition formation of turn signals, the targets will be 1,2270/90, 1,2360/80. An alternative for sales be situated lower than 1,2180 with the targets 1,2110/30, 1,2060/80.
