I have something so to the end and do not understand the difference between ECN and STP? In my opinion the same thing in different words named to confuse us.

I have been trading a live account, i traded manually and i am running an expert advisor on the account. I have to say that i am very impressed with their MT4, and their service. i am talking about FXCBS.

from my experience i worked myself with 3 of the biggest market makers. and i can assure you even if you have regulations and bank accounts are segregated, you are never safe. I would sign a contract with the devil but not sign a contract of a the biggest and most regulated market maker. and which bank would you trust with your deposit now?...

Hi wael117

Tried to PM you but you have that disabled...

Just wondering if your assessment of this broker (FXCBS) is still the same as this post - are you still using them?

Would love to hear from anyone using them recently.

Thanks
Steb

ECN is not the same as STP

STP means Straight Through Processing. that means that the broker puts your order through to the liquidity pool unlike non STP that fills your order and then tries to find it in the market (1 pip bucket shops). There are many types of STP, MM (Market Maker) is my favorite. they offer locked spreads and have a deep pool of their own. ECN is a type of STP.

ECN is basically a liquidity pool (Electronic Communication Network) between banks, it is offered as a service to small Brokerages, they become a sort of introducing broker for the ECN, you will notice high commissions in this case. If a bank is part of the ECN it has cheaper commissions but a high minimum deposit.

I do not personally like a floating spread, but some EAs love the small spread and do better, even though you will pay the same because of the commissions.

SO BASICALLY:

An ECN is a type of STP. The ECN type STP has a floating spread and commissions.

An STP means you are getting filled from the market, the broker is taking no risk and therefore cannot be considered a bucket shop. There are many types and combinations of STP brokers. STP allows scalpers and scalping EAs. as they take no risk they are happier the more you trade and do not care how you do it.

Non STP broker will kick you out if you scalp to fast or use very fast scalping robots, you are beating them at there own game. they will either go bust or keep your money These are the impossibly low fixed spread brokers, if you swing trade you may enjoy them. You never get a requote from this type of broker, because they are filling your position themselves (and taking the risk) but on the flip side they may kick your position if it is a winner and/or stop hunt you if they are losing. BUCKET SHOP.

Hope that helps

STP - 500 - 1
Does not accept US Clients:
https://www.fxprimus.com/

londoncapitalgroup
http://www.londoncapitalgroup.com/me...r/mt_home.html

UPDATE:
smarttradefx.com ...... is getting some good reviews I have noticed at FPA. And they do accept US Customers at this time and still offer 100 - 1 last I heard. How safe the money is with them, I do not know. It would be helpful for those using them to post here .... as per your experience with them. I am considering them as a possibility for myself.

Thanks,

ut2

Pure ECN - STP - I would use them, but I am in the US and not serviced. I use their demo and works great with EA's. No trading restrictions. 500 -1 Leverage. Another option for those not residing in the USA. A friend of mine from Canada says they are the best out there. This is the only broker he trusts, he said. Look at the reviews they are getting! FPA ... ... imo

I have not eard any bad from that broker, but: ¿are they regulated?

How safe are someone's funds? Or your friend's fund.
I read nice declaration of intentions, but not any independent organism to actually check this.

I've been using Smarttradefx for almost a month. I can not complain.

Their Execution is much faster than most Metatrader brokers( i haven't testing the v1.0 .NET platform yet.)

Spreads are Good. 3.7 on GBPJPY. and EURUSD is between 1.7-2.1 all day long.

Even at News spikes the spreads are still good

FXOPEN is garbage with bad customer service, server issues, requotes, Slow execution, etc. True Bucket Shop.

SmartTradefx- No requotes, Ever. Super Fast Execution, and if I have any problems or questions, My account manager replies to his Phone and or Email very quickly.

This is no comparison

No no, I think your getting confused with their dealing desk account.

I'm talking about their ECN at fxopen. I personally think their ECN is top notch.
