Friday I read an article about the guy who last year predicted that around now UJ would hit 80. Of course we can now see that he was right. He has again voiced his (personal) opinion that UJ will hit 70 ~ 75 by the end of this year, and something like 50 by the end of 2011.

There is some fundamental weight behind his opinion. The Chinese are shifting some of their huge quantity of US bonds into Yen; which is probably smart on two counts. Other European countries are following suit and rebalancing their holdings by buying the Yen.

The Japanese...

Thanks P - you are exactly articulating the fundamentals that might influence this pair.

All I asked Robert to do is justify with a chart or reasoned argument exactly why he thinks Usdjpy will go up.

If he can't or won't do that what is the point. FF is a place for Nb's to learn how to trade. Bald statements like ' I think UJ will go back to 90' from the muppets on this thread help no-one and really piss me off.

Hey! I just read your PM (from 2 weeks ago), but I can't reply.......!

Thanks anyway.
Were you 'long' before the BoJ kindly supported your thinking?

Scrappy day for me today, just trying to recover my AU long

Cheers.

What a relief folks, I finally decided to stop the managed account work.
Back to trading strictly my own funds and back to aiming for the stars or at least 100% monthly.
That's how it all started and was good until and I have strayed aside.
I can't say I regret it completely since I have learned a lot about people's psychology and that in itself was probably worth the time I put into it.

Anyway, I will not be trading frequently but rather focus on accuracy.
I'll try to post as time allows.
I will not be getting into stupid arguments, there is already few people on the ignore list and I will not hesitate to add others as needed if any discussion turns ugly.
Once I get going I'll try to add my real account stats to show my progress.

Have a great weekend all

Enjoying my freedom again to trade as I please.

Back to trading basically what has been laid out in this thread and trying to perfect it. Two trades of 20+% each so far this week, I'm in the third one right now which has gone the wrong way but should still work out Ok.
Things are looking good overall

That third trade didn't work out too well

That is what you get when you trade aggressively, but as long as you understand the risks I don't see a problem with that.

Anyway this was a practice with leftover funds from a blown account, under a $100.00

Next Step:
Loading up my account this week with $100.00 and looking to make between 1-3 trades of 40 pips each per week, at 1:50 leverage, so looking for about 20% gain on each trade, lots compounded after each trade.

I'll be stalking the market for that perfect set up for those trades, I'll try to post the trades here but no promises. Please pray for my patience.

If anyone sees any good set up forming feel free to post.

I'll make these attempts until I get $100 into at least $100,000.00
Then maybe I'll slow down.

Again, folks this is aggressive trading not for the faint at heart, please do not post that I am crazy or suicidal, people already told me that.
I only risk my own money so it should not be a concern to anyone.

Thanks for the update Robertw What was the % loss on the third trade that put out this account?

I wouldn't want to be noisy, but what is your highest % win before an idea has a serious decline ? Mine is 200% trading breakouts before being killed by ranging markets.

I did about 1500% in a month about a year ago when I was starting with this approach and was focused on it the most, Then I lost some of it but I'm still few hundred percent in the black for the year.
I don't intend to shoot for that much anytime soon.
Getting 200% each time would be wonderful as long as you withdraw about 50% when you get to that point so that in case something bad happens you don't need to put in fresh capital. I'm planning to withdraw about 25% every time I get 100% and reset the count after every withdrawal.

The track has not been what I would like it to have been, I've made people some money and for some people I have lost some money it all depends on when someone came on board and when they left.
Overall I am not happy with the monetary return for me and my investors and the stress that it exerts on me so that is why I quit.

I expect the track record to improve now, but we'll know for sure after few months. It looks like it is going to be a very interesting time.

Last week has been a waste of time.

I've been stalking AUDUSD since last Sunday expecting a re-test of the parity and possibly a few pips above.
I know it will happen as critical levels like that are tested at least twice many times more before being rejected or broken but the markets overall the whole last week have been slow and AU in the range.
The bad news is that I had to close part of the positions with about 50% loss on one of the attempts lower to maintain margin.
The good news is that AU has made multiple attempts to break to the downside and the support around 0.9670 held up so that gives me much confidence.
With the remaining positions the account should recover and even squeeze out some profit at the parity level.

This trade has not been what I was hunting for, maybe I wasn't patient enough and got in too early but I'm a strong believer in this pattern of re-testing new highs and new lows and especially such key points as parity so I decided to put all my cards on this one.

This week is supposed to bring us a whole wagon of news and events so there should be very decent action and that should resolve my trade and hopefully raise more opportunities after that.

On another note

I've decided to run this project on multiple accounts in parallel instead of working single account at a time. Same rules will apply to each but each will have a different pair traded as opportunities develop.

That AUD trade has worked out just like expected.

PATTERNS * PATTERNS * PATTERNS

Got to love them

I gout out of AU and into AJ yesterday and just got out of all my trades.
Made back all the loses from last week plus about 40% more.

Another great week behind us.
Seems like the title of this thread is still valid
Right now I got to the point where I'm making 100% to 200% of the original equity on each trade, scared to think what it will be a month from now.

I spend a lot of time watching the PA this week and again and again about 90+% of the patterns have worked out as I expected and as they generally do.

I'm telling you people if you want to improve your trading, learn to recognize the price patterns. They are based on human emotions of greed and fear and those have not changed for millenniums and most likely wont for a long time and at least not in our lifetimes, which makes these patterns so predictable and repetitious.
There is many many good books out there on the subject, read them.

Sure you are with 9Vs and over 500 posts.
After reading some of them I'm trying to decide what you mission is here on FF.

Anyway, I'm not here to teach details anymore, this is more of a journal for me.
I show my approach and if someone wants to try it there is enough pointers in the thread already so that I am not going to repeat myself.

Its unfolding like expected, I never said its going to happen in 24 hrs.

But the little detour in the PA happened to bring out the true character of some people on the forum, so there are always positive things to everything that happens.

Good Trading.
