Guys please share your way of trading BO strategy.

Do you set limit order say x pips above resistance line (for break out upward)? What is the acceptable x pips amount to get good % confirmation on BO?

I had tried 5 and 10 in the past with no luck but I think it's because I have too few trades with BO.

I dont know if its just me but I cant see many good setups so far this week, theres been a couple but not anything like the quality of last week in regards to potential profit and risk reward.

Is it just me or are other members experiencing the same?

I consulted lg about changes to the display ea. She asked for:

 

  1. MN1 column for display purposes only - it plays no part in the trend display.
  2. Font size control.

2) is more complicated that it sounds. If you make your font sizes too large, then the column and row display gets mucked up. If you want font size display, then you need column and row spacing control as well.

The input names should be pretty obvious, so please do not ask about them. Play with the input to make the display suit you.

I forgot to add that I have made the frequency of alert emails dependent on the chart TF.

If you want fewer alerts, use a higher tf; more frequent alerts = lower tf.

Swissy is making 3rd tap on that descending weekly tl .. however she also overshot it, so not sure if this will turn into a valid short or not....

shorted gbpusd from 1.5803 for 44 pips had the benefit of break of support and diagonal TL to decide entry.. nice.. than went long too late usdchf and bailed out at temporary reversal -22 pips.. now its off to the races .. not nice , am only trading small equity account and that makes one too jumpy with such reversals even when using part lots .. all in the learning curve I guess
I'm still loking at Swissy as a short unless that weekly TL acts as support. My 4 hour candle closes in 30 minutes... watching to see where it closes.

I think it is that there are a lot of mixed signals ... USD looks strong today (gold is falling fast). aussie just got hit, cable falling, but none of this may last long. Maybe time to play for smaller pip gains on lower tf until things stabilize one way or the other.

still hh and hl so far , still would have been a nice 4 hr 3 tap, does the 3 rsi give divergence like macd, will see if it breaks real body resistance around 0.9670

"T" trade line, after 2 taps- The EA made the entering at the third tap .

I did ..when she used the tl as support...
