Statistics is mostly probability mathematics. probability and permutations don't count in this game of forex or stocks, may be in porker during 'card counting' math in the head. Only the variance in the mean value deviations count in this lovely GAME.

True, statistics do involve probability, but if you have ever done statistics for Quality Assurance or, better still, Safety Engineering, you would know that the calculations involve some pretty heavy shit - a lot of number crunching ....
