Noda is a wet paper bag for sure. No amount of verbal intervention will stop the rot. Noda needs to use the force of BOJ soon. Losing face, I think he lost it long ago when the intervention gave all it gains away.

Is it true that when volatility is at its extreme ( during intervention for example), stop loss levels may not be respected. Price may 'skip' our desired SL and trade close at the next available price which could be way higher than set. If this is scenario is possible, kinda dangerous I think; may lose much more than you planned.

If this continues unabated, then it's surely sayōnara to the export driven economic recovery for Japan. I can almost hear Cannon and Toyota crying from here.

I wonder, if the focus shifts from USA economic woes to Japan's, in the same way that it shifted from EZ to USA, and the true state of the Japan economy is acknowledged for what it truely is (ie in deep shit), then a massive crash of the Yen would follow quite quickly. I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for it, but it must come.

May be Cannon and Toyota should relocate all their R&D and factories to other parts of Asia or to US

Thats why its really weird Noda hasn't ordered sustained large scale intervention. The big commerical's must be extremely worried and I suspect pressuring the government to do something soon.

Well they are actually quite well spread out around the globe, but the more that manufacturing goes off shore, so then the more unemployment rises.....with it's own set of headaches for the economic recovery

They've been putting the pressure on for quite a while now. It would be nice to know the reasons for the lack of any action whatsoever, but we'll never know that.

If they can hold on for a while, once the world start shifting focus from the Fed's QE to the reality in jap, the amount of debt they have, UJ will automatically return to 90. That may be what BOJ is planning. I think they will atleast wait till the Fed decision on QE. I dont think they want to hold the falling knife till then

How about the US and JP have been planning this ruse since August? 1.Obama needs something to convince the voters that the economy is turmed around with his stimulus plan. Dems are in trouble with mid term election. Repubs take over congress and Obama is lame duck to the max.
2. Formulate a plan to kill the USD to cheapen all exports and drive the DOW and S&P up
3. Voters see DOW rally and think Obama is telling the truth for a change
4. US and JP conspire to kill USD
5. JP buys with xx billion at 82.88 and turns the table but
6. Then slowly sells to newer lows and starts over again
7. Toyota, Cannon Etc are told to sit tight and some of the profits from quick buy/sell and then shorting will be theirs too.
If you had the billions to move the market either way and then reverse over time, would you??
So many deals with Gov and big boys we are only guessing at best and usualy get the shaft. Just my 2 cents and thoughts.
I would guess that 80.98 is new bottom based on lower trend line of daily from 9/1/10 and 9/15/10 lows. Again, just a guess. Noda nor Obama have shared the secerts with me.

Well, I'm taking a punt here.....I put a very small long on 81.25....sl 80.80. It's too quiet.....something might be cooking....
