Hi antgal, i must really agree that this pin is at a good location and is with 61 fib and rejected off VBRN, however the close of the bar is somewhere in the middle which make it somewhat a neutral bar. IMHO

Hi guys,

I was doing some backtesting and saw one fine pinbar which failed, any explanation much appreciated. Nice long pin here and rejected off 81.00 ppz, the only reason I figure is we are trading into BRN 80.00. Should the bar close below 80.00, it will then be a very very fine pin. Am I right?

Hey Liu

Firstly this is not a failed pin bar as technically it never broke. Remember a bar is never validated till it breaks the high/low. But yes I agree we want that close under that BRN. At least I do every single time

silver generated a small PB on my chart (alpari) which broke upward right NOW. (RSI and MA also confirmed upward)

Im still demoing, so waiting if my expectiations (1362) will be fulfilled

Today being a US bank holiday, volume will be low.. Hence I believe all the PA's should be taken with a caution.

I don't think much of it because it lacks symmetry, but a good head and shoulders formation almost always draws a pin bar on a higher time frame. Have a look for it and tell me what you think?

Hey Mike! thats fast.. Another qn.. Does it matter how long it took to break the low/high of the pin or you will give it a miss if it do not break by say a week.. ?

I look for momentum of the next bar to break or I cancel my order about 99% of the time. Some people will wait till it either breaks or it invalidates. Some wait a few days.

thanks for that info. I´m looking forward to tomorrow while expecting a break of 1350 AND the small supporting trendline (triangle)

a pair im interested in at the moment
we broke out of daily triangle, and then consolidated, do we continue to push up to 88 which is a monthly ppz or do we fall back
a break either way is welcomed, but im sure many wld prefer up

You probably all have something like this already, but I didn't, so I just wrote it. It alerts you (with a ping sound and a popup window) when the price on a chart reaches a specified price above or below the current price. I have ~ 30 charts open x 4 brokers. It's easy to miss a price move, so I want to get alerted as soon as price reaches some interesting price I specify.

Put it in the /experts/ directory, then drag it on the chart and enter a targetHigh and/or targetLow price. It alerts you if the Ask hits the targetHigh or if the Bid hits the targetLow. Feel free to modify it as you like.

Just to add to the G-J Hourly, its good to zoom out a bit to get a better look at the story unfolding.

To bad the BEOB on the Hourly, (it was a small PB on your feed), happened late on Friday.

The indecision bar off Resistance . . not too bad . . but clearer bearish PA sure makes it easier. . . . .nice trade.

Morning folks.

Anyone notice a severe lack of data on some IBFX charts.


This is CAD/JPY Daily on IBFX, the left of the screen is the start of the data from 2009.

Makes it really hard to find the flip levels.

Black chart is FXDD with at least 3 more years of data than IBFX, still a bit thin.
