wanting to get a short in while we're close to the recent high but with this little volume i'm hesitant..is it normal for a recent high to be taken out (1.4028) on a day like this just to take out the shorts? I guess asking this question should tell me not to trade huh

also have a long at 1.4050 in case we break upward
assume the position...whichever that may be

Ya no place for a scalper. Its correlated with the E/U anyway, has dropped around 1,100 pips since the Labor Day setup - less movement than E/U and more expensive to trade. I'll pass.

SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)




EUR/USD - to consolidate with positive bias. Pair underpinned by expectations of more QE measures from U.S. Fed, positive global risk sentiment, EUR demand from sovereign central banks. But EUR/USD gains tempered by jawboning on euro strength from EU's Juncker; lingering concerns over economic & fiscal health of peripheral euro-zone nations. Data focus: 0645 GMT France August industrial production index. EUR/USD daily chart positive-biased as MACD bullish, stochastics stays elevated at overbought. Resistance at 1.4030 (Thursday's high); breach would expose upside to 1.4197 (Jan. 25 high), then 1.4216 (previous base set Dec. 22, 2009) and psychological 1.4500. Support at 1.3900 (hourly chart), then at 1.3833 (Friday's low); breach would temper near-term positive outlook, exposing downside to 1.3797 (Wednesday's low), then 1.3635 (Tuesday's low), 1.3617 (Oct. 1 low) and 1.3558 (Sept. 30 low).

Cross of below 1.3916/ 01 ... and one more sell off towards 1.3876 - 1.3847 ... or even towards 1.3795 - 1.3765 possible then ...

Only a break of 1.4066/ 77 limits would be a bullish trigger again ...

Hello all. Nice to see that US protectionism is still on the menu. Trade wars. Currency wars. Business as usual. Chinese want to help the EURO? So the US makes the EURO expensive. US wants to stop Chinese imports (or at least force them to raise the Yuan)? So the US sinks the Dollar. You want to sell/save your country and it's debt? You have 2 buyers. Both have big armies. But one a known evil (US) and the other is not really known at all (due to communism and rhetoric). Pretty simple plan if you ask me.
