Has the BOJ/MoF intervened outside the Tokyo sessions before? I been meaning to ask this question for a few days now but I couldn't find anyone who knew anything about Japanese interventions. Would you know anything?
I believe they did at London and NY sessions on 9/15-16. JP newspaper confirmed it.

Isn't it strange that the Nikkei has barely moved? Last time yen strengthened this much Japanese equities were all down by a considerable %. Not now.

G7 countries don't shut down outside of 9-5. On holidays, Ashraf Laidi twittered the following a few hours ago:

Got to be alert to the possibility, but this latest move down is the market calling the bluff of boj. This is the test......and so far boj fails convincingly.

I'm pretty sure that they got told off by Obama et al last time they intervened......so far it looks like they (boj) are going to do what they have been told to do.....which is a suprise to me.

I would have thought that boj would have realised by now that 'action talks...bullshit (and rhetoric) walks'.........lol.......

Here's the view from 2003. Quite amazing. This piling into the yen is just plain dumb. It won't last forever, esp. since Japan's not been in this bad shape for 20+ years.

He certainly won't!! That's why I suprised that BOJ/Govt took any notice of him.....moreso when he prints as much currency as Mugabe!!....well....maybe not quite that much!

No doubt diplomatic & formal channels were/are abuzz after Japan intervened last time. I'm just surprised Japan is so untrue to their oft-repeated words - the internal political fallout won't be repairable. I mean, as one of the most powerful countries in the world, to lay out a plan and not follow it for whatever reason implies major lack of resolve, coordination and management of your resources.

I'm not just talking a case for intervention here, but for the whole value of the yen, and what it can do to your economic prosperity. You don't resolve this with a few interventions but rather by marketing policy and intent shifts, over a sustained period; the BoJ decrees of a few days ago were too feeble, too late & too little.

so again chart never lie..

Ok seem weekly already had 3 down bar, i would like to se how this week close...if above 83.20 n monday close confim at this resistance to become support...i think yes u r right they may do somethings soon...

n if that happen 92-92.90 could be the next target...mm..hope this target is not a dream for bull bias.

base on my chart if something 'Bull shit' happen 84.20-86.30(must break)-87.10-92-92.90 could go...

otherwise break 81.80...another new low

just my 2 cent..
