I truly believe that trader who didn't lose heavily in early phases (but survived) never becomes very successful. Statistically, he can always be a bit better (making money and losing small occassionally), but never very good or exceptional. It 's already achievement (not to lose heavily, while earn moderatelly), but hardly something special.
Learning during losses is valuable, as emotional pressure forces intuition to develop 'hidden part of trader's decisionmaking', although I hate to call for intuition as key trading ingredient.
Still, heavy losses that didn't destroy ones assets are in very Nietszhe style 'what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger'. If one continues after that, there are chances that he is already not same 'bad' trader, but (speculation) improved by experience. Trying again (even on demo account) reveals the truth about that.
Making 100 PIPS daily (as constant target) is easy or hard, just depending on angle how one looks at it. In average to earn 100 PIPS one should sometimes allow 50 or 200 PIPs of losses (are you ready??), what means that 100+compensating daily losses=150-300 PIPs of positive trades.
In days like this Monday, Tuesday and Thursday there were practically no losses on trades i did, so 300-450 PIPs profits booked daily looked impressive (yes with no losses, you put all that points to acc.).
During Wednesday several bad entries (guys here warned about them, but I didn't pay attention) created massive loss of over 400 PIPs at peak momentum, but I had 'insight' that closing position would be total mistake and several hours later I closed (albeit, way too early) at '0'.
In theory bad trades could erase all wins, but here we are in territory which divides boys from men and I never, ever suggested anyone to trade in too risky fashion.
Summarized, only own tactics and strategy built on hard earned experience (and supported by painful losses) is way to make gains and survive in forex constatntly. Before this happens, chances are that one will lose his deposit sooner or later. Some call it discipline.
Reading too much books and listening to too much experts can kill that 'own tactic', too.
The truth is that some were simply not born for trading (real lack of some psychological, logical and intutive qualities).
Finally, if day looks wrong (no mood), don't trade.

I have this thing at a resistance. However, if it breaks I have it running up about 90 pips to 3760+/-. Just my analysis. My Heiken Ashi candle chart...

Creator, you make some very good points, I appreciate your insight and agree with you. I have regularly big days too, although I start each day with a small target in mind and see what the market can give me.

I dont' post much but I read every post and try to find something of value from everyone here. From time to time I see a post I'm compelled to reply and yours is one of them. Keep up the good work and keep sharing your skills.
