I agree with your comments. IMO, It can take a long time and skills for a trader to understand that you can make money trading without understanding fundamentals but it takes a lot longer to understand that without them there will be no movements at all.

In other words, a trader can be successful without understanding fundamentals if you have a proven statistical edge than in the modern electronic 24h markets is not given by a xx number, convergence, divergence. #s, etc, CCI, MACD, etc , etc.

Market moves not because a indicator is pointing at some number. Usually the privilege ones who are successful are fast electronic automated algos and computers not the average retail trader using canned indicators.

So the few options, IMO (and I really admire the one that consistently & successfully are profitable in fast intraday timeframes) a small trader have to reduce risk is understanding the general fundamental macro picture at least and translating this info to tradable charts (above 4h for analysis). In my case, discarding news and fundamentals from the equation not only show laziness and a lack of understanding on how the market work but also lead to the typical result: Another trader filling broker statistics of failed traders.

That's my opinion but I do respect people who have a consistent mechanical intraday trading plan. In my case, the option of trading without fundamentals is not an option.

Of course, one could effectively argue that this can be ascertained from purely viewing charts. However, many traders prefer to have some sort of handle on what's behind current sentiment and the evolving macro picture when analysing the charts.

you didn't get the sweet notion to this. he posted this hours before the fact, with a deviation of one single pip. i have a high of 3738 on that candle. i am starting to believe that his barkeeper can foresee... no, of course not.

Im still inclined towards 3650-3672 intraday, stops around 3585 level as hourly charts are positive. Those are my targets.
