for me (and my classification) it was a normal touch trade and for me its then important to watch the P/A on the M5

Have taken the liberty of cutting and pasting:

"Quadruple witching refers to the third Friday of every March, June, September and December. On these days, market index futures, market index options, stock options and stock futures expire, usually resulting in increased volatility.

How It Works/Example:
Although futures and options generally share simultaneous expirations on the third Friday of every month, quadruple witching days only occur four times a year. The last hour of these trading days, from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. EST, is referred to as the quadruple witching hour.
On quadruple witching days, and especially during quadruple witching hours, many investors attempt to unwind their futures and options positions before the contracts expire. This activity frequently includes repurchasing contracts and closing out position market capitalizations.

Why It Matters:
Quadruple witching days are usually accompanied by considerable volatility in stock and derivative prices, as well as increased trading volume. As a result, investors can anticipate and plan for the potential effects of these relatively turbulent trading days."

Am currently coding an mq4 indicator as we speak that will automatically disable my mouse on these days....will share when i get it working

Nice move down...

I tried a kind of counter trend trade, thinking "where will the retracement start ?"

Perhaps good to try the round number 1,5650 ?

It didn't reach that level, so I entered based on the M1 P/A.

+10 for this one...but risky...

What about the confluence of:

* EMA50 on M15
* Daily R1
* SMA10 on H1

well, not bad, +10 again
(the value shown below are pips:80 = 8,0 at the moment of the picture)

+35 today = > done for the weekend.


(the pity is: it is demo...too early for the real)

Dear fellow traders,
I would not like to disturb your weekend, but you're missing your trades until Monday , you can maybe help me with mine.
I attached a file with results of testing my MA_Touch EA for Sept 16-17.
The signal is given when a price touches the 10 EMA from above (so we should buy) or from below (we should sell). The EXACT time of each touch (tick time) is given. If there're several touches for the same 15-minute bar, only the FIRST touch is signaled.
There're about a 100 touches for two days, but they are not filtered at all (neither by trading time, nor by EMA directions, nor by "2-bars-getting-there" rule).
Would it be too much for you experienced traders to have a look at this file, and to filter the trades you would or would not take? (At least half of them should be filtered out because of invalid trading time; the time stated in the file is my broker's, GMT+3).
I would enormously appreciate your help. Have a nice weekend!

I don't have time to do this but I can tell you what I would have traded these two dates:
1. Only trade signals after 10:00AM and sometimes 9:00AM if it looks good (I am also GMT+3)
2. The M15 MAs were very flat on the 16th. In addition, due to news and the fact that the M15 bars were procupines (long tails on both sides) there was no good 10 EMA trade on the 16th.
3. on the 17th:
a) touch long 10:00 at 1.5691
b) touch short 14:30 at 1.5677
c) touch short 15:30 at 1.5659
d) touch short 18:15 at 1.5645 (the pinbars before this bar probably would have made me very careful on this one)

I used M5 for the fine-tuning so I am not sure about the exact M1 bar that made the above touches.

Crazzzy, it's the robot I am developing that produces these signals. Nothing really special, just the automatic detection of the price touching a MA line...

I analyzed your trades on 17.09.
Can you please teach me why you did not take the one at 16.15 (GMT+3)?
It was a perfect one for short, "got back" in just one bar, and the touch was right on 10 EMA + RN (1.5650).
Nevertheless, the price continued upside to 1.5673 before turning back, so I assume you would get stopped on this one.
Was there any reason you didn' take this trade?

Three reasons why not:
1. I take only the first EMA 10 touch and very rarely the second. This was the third touch (1st at 14:15, 2nd at 15:30) so there was no way that I would take it. It usually breaks the EMA10 on the third effort.
2. Price had just bounced from H1 35/50 and as we know higher timeframes are more important so no shorts there for me
3. Not a Dance EMA but I am using M15 200SMA and price had also just bounced from that.

may i ask you how are you doing with the system ever since you started in terms of returns % per week/month. from your posts i assume you are doing well and achieving consistent returns, but still its better to ask

I stopped calculating % because the number is ridiculously big, in the order of a few thousands % (remember I started from 400E when my account was almost wiped out before the Dance). Assuming a growth of 2-3% per day from early March you can make some calculations yourself (I have less than 10 trading days that the account didn't grow and around 4-5 days of -3%). I haven't traded every single day due to work.
So now I am well into a 5 digit account. As I said a few days ago, with my current lot size the 30 pips represent a substantial amount of money so I changed my plan to allow a withdrawal of 1000E every 2000E profit. This way I get some gratification and also it will allow me to stay at lower lot sizes longer, so that I can get used to the bigger amounts. Still my target of 30000E looks achievable within the year (at that point I will fix my trades to 4-5 lots and so 30pips will be around 1000E daily). That's as far as my planning goes, I should decide what to do after 30,000 but I am now focusing on this target (who knows if this can go to six digits I could increase my lot size further???)
