Id always advise closing positions before the news. But being a "technical" person I consult my charts....News would have an immediate effect but at higher TFs news are usually negated due to a retracement ( except for CBs interventions such as yesterday )

Usually when news come out, there is an immediate reaction after that impulse trading happens. After that a retracement on pre-news level.

I think you should consider SL before entering the trade, if a single trade at a time is used, not more then 4% of total account id say. Moreover i agree with Tarantula.

news trading is quite dangerous almost like russian roulette.
you need a good broker with fast execution.
i usually wait to see how the news affect, if they are in the trend of my chart i enter on retracement in direction of the trend. Usully news dont change the trend, only short time change.

I believe we are going down, price hit 38% monthly fibonacci, besides price needs correction and there is a bearish divergence od M 15, M30, H1.
