Hi:

I took this trade on GU. I closed it as soon as the EMA10 in h4 was being touched.

So...daily goal reached on one trade.

If I had followed my own rules (i.e. when many things confluence the price checks all of them) I would have gotten more than 25p on this but I got only 15p because I was trigger happy. I was afraid that I am going to miss the trade and got long right on the confluence of H1 35/50 that I was telling you earlier this morning but I should have waited for the RN. Anyway 15p is 15p. My SL was below the RN (around 16p SL). As I am writing this the price moved another 30 but I am not complaining.

Because of GU news I experimented with EU. It almost stopped me out (I was not in from of my computer to manage it) but eventually gave me +26p (I had my TP just below daily R1). Reasons to trade: M15 10 bounce, H1 10 bounce, entry refinement using M5. Missed a nice H4 10 bounce earlier this morning.

I would challenge you at this one, Kostas1 I am very interested in MQL programming, and I am working on automatizing the Dance system right now (while trading manually on the side, of course). When the price tends to the MA, the MA tends AWAY from the price, because the MA is calculated on CLOSE. So, you can only see the perfect touch AFTER the "touch bar" is closed.. but it's too late to enter the trade then! So, you must do some extrapolation of the MA to estimate the touch point. This is fairly easy for a human, but less so for a robot...

Interesting! Well, my experience with coding is limited to BASIC back when the first home computers came out (I had a TI-99/4A), so what do I know?
Anyway, since you started this project already, all I can do is help you. Here are some comments:
1. The easiest to code should be the constrainment (3 or more bars that are confined by the MAs), and the 35/50 bounce.
2. In terms of the "touch" use the actual touch of the MA as the trigger (M1 bar touches the M15 10) and not when the price touches after the bar close. Of course you should use the "two-bar" retracement rule.
3. The attached indicator contains code that detects the MA touch. It may help you to get some ideas.

I learned an important thing in the last days:

DONT TRADE AGAINST THE H1 TREND!

if M15 is conflicting with H1 then I stay out!

well my main trick here is:
i substract the MA 10 from the already closed bar from the bar before.
for example the number now from the last closed bar is : 1.559633
the bar before this bar had a MA number of: 1.559941
makes a difference of 3.08 pips.

then i substract these 3.08 pips from 1.559633 and the result is: 1.559325

if i would then short the MA 10 i would put in the order : short limit 1.5593

clear?

Birdland, that's exactly I am calling "interpolation"; we are thinking the same way!
Kostas1: thank you, I am aware of that indicator, but that's not exactly what we're looking for. That indicator signals the price CROSSING the MA (open on one side, close on another), not TOUCHING it...
Of course, I keep you informed on my programming progress, but it's definitely too early for a separate thread; I will not post about it until I see the real progress.

It seemed to me like a kind of "constrainment" of the SMA35 on M5 and of the SMA10 on M15...

I guess I was right , as it just literally crashed into the +15 TP of the visual editor....

i am having a day off trading today - it is quadruple witching day which has been bad for me in the past - be careful - can get very choppy.
1 trader viewing now
