When I hear Think or Swim I think options. I know some fulltime options traders and they say TOS is the best.

But there are probably more competitive places to daytrade futures.

That is relatively new and I have not tried it. You should let them set you up a demo on it - but be prepared to be marketed thereafter - they will keep at you to open a real account. However, they were pretty cool with me about extending the demo period multiple times.

Even if you don't trade any contracts its worth having an account somewhere just to watch some true volume.

issue is with futures is you do not have to be rich ... but as in today you are on the worng side of the ES at $50 per point move (min 1 contract at $12.5 per .25) , you become poor very quickly.

Futures is not for a small acocunt IMHO as I have found it needs about 4 to 5 point breathing room on stops in this current market.

today es whipsawed sdown 15 points then back up 25 .... not for the faint of heart or novice traders , or traders that do not have good mm skills.

Yep. I never really found any advantage in currency trading with futures. I started out in spot and I am used to that. I trade enough size but I also like continually adjusting the trade size (looking for that smooth exponential growth curve lol) and I can do that in spot, not futures.

I like watching the ES volume while trading spot euro, though. That is often a very interesting clue.

tip with futures like es get yourself a volume profile indie. s/r analyst has one for esignal that woirks like a charm , you can plot last 20 days high volume pivots or poc on tha charts

1048.76
1053 ( 2 there)
1056.3

draw these line on an es chart and you will see what i am talking about

the prior 20 days poc works better in ES than it does on fx ( still works pretty good on fx)

Yeah like the poster up top said they'll ride you pretty hard to get you to open an account.

Try out Mirus Futures if you want a nice hassle free demo.

I was able to reup on a demo several months straight without any problems. Just keep applying for one with the same email address.

I can't really vouch for them for livetrading tho.
Still saving up enough money on the side so I can eventually open up a viable account of 15 to 20k so I can hold a position or 2 overnight if I need to.
Demo's been nice.

checking charts for primary views . usdix may form a bull flag before next try up , jpy10 fell enough without taking usdix with it , usdx may follow jpy & down & if so then eu to bounce more .

something going on in 30 years and dx right now that could lead to weakness on usd .. even if only temp . I am thinking eu up move to 2800 / 2900 ( prior channel above us is 2720 to 2900)

There is a rumour of an Obama speech on Monday/Tuesday which may have a massive economic impact. It will not be in the nature of more QE but of a massive, and unexpected by most, influx of funds into the US.

I do not know whether this will in fact occur on those days but, just in case, I will make sure not to be shorting USD those days.

Yep, its true. Barack called me and axed me if I could help out so I said sure. I took a little bit out of one of my accounts and loaded it on a C-130 and its headed for DC right now.

Thanks malcolm , yes may be temporary , may be not, for an extended time if usdix ultimately fail take off breaking one after the other to confirm at 83.60,84.12 & finally 85.03 then a 2nd recession US side can't be ignored as usdix may then fall enough 80.20,79.53,78.33,77.25, to even 74.18 ( extreme ) . anyway after any good fall it should continue all up .
there chances a 5th wave down after the 4th if ends upside by a confirm failure up breaking those upper levels mentioned above to at least bottom.
Just my idea , may take longs time to see if .

wouldn't this devalue the usd? When you say influx of funds into the united states, are you meaning sovereign investments into us or selling of us debt to foreign nations?

No, I am actually referring to funds coming from Iraq as the dinar revalues.

There have been many rumours of dinar revaluation in the past but this is the first one which is actually credible.

It will result in an influx of funds to US, EEU and China mostly. As to the effect on the market, I have no idea, but it could be a huge boost for the USD since the US is due to benefit much more than the EEU. Just hope that the account can handle whatever happens since I really do not know.

The speculation is that Obama is going to use it to get his minions into office at the next election and that the timing has to do with Jackson Hole as well as the election since it will not help as much if it is too close to the time of the election.

Not only does the US government have a lot of dinars but so do some estimated 500,000 americans.

This could be a very interesting time. Read that in the same way as the ancient chinese curse that wishes people to live in interesting times. I may want to be flat by Monday night, come to think of it.
