Some people acknowledge their inability to predict, yet it could be fun to see what people think on this forum of the upcoming announcement of the unemployment situation.

So here is my take (it is a guess):

1. initial jobless claim 550k+ (former census workers trying to get back to work, plus with the autumn coming and 'the livin is no longer easy' folks trying to get back to work)

2. continuing claims 4.5m

3. with respect to FX, wild moves and then JPY and USD strength.

Anyone else with their reasoning?

sl at be plus some but to close for the news... let's see it unfold. will surely make me sad to see it go up to break down, but rather loose an opportunity than loose money...

Your numbers are probably fine but there may or may not be wild moves since the news is already anticipated.

I would expect USD strength in all pairs except UJ and possibly USDCHF.

Had a buy position before the news, it back fired on me. closed at 1.2691 for -7 pips and opened a sell position, closed at 1.2668 for +20 pips.

just before the news i had my sl at 05. i notice there was a good resistance. up goes sl 3 pips on the four positions. missed sl by those 3 pips. best decision i took this week!

daily pivot holding on pretty well.will it break or make?

U should have waited a bit more....News reaction has a good retrace also, its usually characterized by YEN weakness/strenght driving the pair after US news release...im still bullish..

A clear bearish sign would be a breakdown of 2590-60 levels

Good news means stronger $, bad news means weaker $, really bad news means stronger $ due to risk aversion. Its crazy but that's what happens. The problem with RA is you don't know when it will happen unless it's already happening.
